Where does this come from?

West will be won by LSU or Bama

East will be won by UGA or Tenn

Is Milroe the next great Bama QB? Does Bob/PG get replaced?

Who is going to replace hooker for Tenn? Is Hyatt coming back?

Who replaces Bennett?

I don't think anyone else will have a shot at winning the SEC. USCe might be stout, and TAMu might have the talent, but UF/AU are a few years away, and Ole Miss/Arky always stumble.

LSU probably falls off heavily.

LSU's overall roster gets better next season. Not sure what you're seeing there.

Milroe as starting QB will spell disaster and we will know for certain Saban has lost it.

LSU this season was a team of smoke and mirrors. Against SEC Opponents: 2 20+ point losses. 3 losses by double figures. 3 wins by 4 points or less 3 wins by double figures 1 win by 20+ points. The combined LSU point total against the last 3 teams in the West was 57-65. LSU, in all games against SEC Opponents scored 253 points and allowed 257. LSU is a 0.500 conference team that got lucky in close games.

You could easily say that Alabama was “lucky” in close games.

They beat Texas and Texas AM by a total of 5 points combined. Along with beating Ole Miss barely.

Yet you have Alabama 1 when they lose most of their star players, and will be relying on a brand new starter with hardly experience.

Help it make sense.

I'm interested to see if anyone can name the last time an SEC West "champion" had 2 losses of 20 or more points in a season.

For the West:
1995 Arkansas
1998 Mississippi State
2000 Auburn
2022 LSU

For the East:
1992 Florida
2007 Tennessee
2010 South Carolina
2014 Missouri
2015 Florida
2016 Florida

Where is UGA rebuilding other than QB. We return our entire WR corps + Bowers and added the two best SEC transfers

Plus even though we are replacing a QB, he is only a game manager.

Can we delay this conversation until at least the summer. Not one person on this board knows how any roster is gonna look next year other than their own team

I think LSU and UGA will still be the top teams in their divisions. I expect Bama, UT, aTm and USC to be contenders.

My pick for surprise team in the SEC West for 2023 is Auburn. Freeze is a great coach. He'll get Auburn on the fast track. MSU and Ole Miss will still be scrappy teams, capable of beating higher ranked opponents. The one program I can't get a feel for is Arkansas yet.

WEST
1. LSU
2. aTm
3. Bama
4. Auburn
5. MS State
6. Ole Miss
7. Arkansas
*[4-6 are interchangeable]

In the East, I think Vandy will no longer be a checkmark win. Teams better prepare and not schedule them for homecoming. UK needs to replace a lot of talent, so I don't see them being a factor next season.

EAST
1. Georgia
2. UT
3. USC
4. Florida
5. Vandy
6. Mizzou
7. UK
*[5-6 are interchangeable]

Hell - that's not even for sure. Rogers hit the portal today - that kid was already inked in as a starter next year.

Stoops might be on the move, even with that $8 million a year contract. Because everything I'm reading and hearing (I'm sure you see the same stuff) is that UK is woefully behind in NIL and simply can not keep up.

If Leary is healthy, we should give Georgia a run.

Is LSU or AL the favorite in the West?

UGA should better overall defensively. Better at offensive skill. Less on OL & QB. It’d be hard for them to lose more than 1-2, but without knowing what we have in Beck it’s hard to envision going much beyond a 10/11 win regular season to a SECC or NC. My guess is preseason 4 or 5.

We could however have our best recruiting class ever next year.

State returns pretty much everyone that played in the bowl yesterday minus the secondary but we picked up 2 good CBs in the portal.

On paper we should be just as good or better. The unknown is coaching staff that Arnett hires

I guess, sure, if you mean you expect the kids to run out of the tunnel onto the field. In which case, yes, the Cayts will "give Georgia a run".

This all assumes they don't crash the bus on the way to the field. Never take anything for granted with Kentucky Football.

Sept. 16 SOUTH CAROLINA
Sept. 23 UAB
Sept. 30 at Auburn
Oct. 7 KENTUCKY
Oct. 14 at Vanderbilt
Oct. 21 Open Date
Oct. 28 vs. Florida (Jacksonville)
Nov. 4 MISSOURI
Nov. 11 OLE MISS
Nov. 18 at Tennessee
Nov. 25 at Georgia Tech

Think about it like a gambler. If you are a 95% favorite every game, what's the chances of going undefeated through twelve games ?

54%. Barely 50/50. Don't underestimate how outstanding what Georgia has done, regular season, the last two years. Even though they didn't always have their A game. Especially because they didn't.
