Granted we do have a very favorable schedule……The Florida & Auburn games are always potential losses. Not likely but it’s happened before. And the game in Knoxville I would guess is no more than an 8-9 point spread. I’m not saying we can’t go 12-0. But we don’t know anything about Beck. SC could step forward. We get them at home but they could be a threat. And for better or worse that scrappy little son of a gun gave us a lot of leadership & confidence. What if Beck ain’t it? We could lose both tackles and Center to the NFL. We got a lot of quality depth but that doesn’t ensure they’re a great unit.

What I don’t know are the National favorites out of SEC?

Clemson, FSU, Oregon, OSU without Stroud?, USC, ND, who’s the team in the Big 12? Michigan is prob losing Harbaugh? Can Penn State win the B1G with their new QB. I don’t know.

If I was a Georgia fan, or an Alabama fan, or maybe an LSU fan ... you have to look at the schedule and think "there aren't any games here the boys CAN'T win". That has to be a good feeling.

As a Kentucky fan ? This year, Georgia was just a loss. Which was funny - it was the best game they played this year. But a loss before the game started all the same.

54%. Barely 50/50. Don't underestimate how outstanding what Georgia has done, regular season, the last two years. Even though they didn't always have their A game. Especially because they didn't.

I hear ya but UGA didn't have their "B game" against Kent State, Mizzou, nor Kentucky. The Defense is what has allowed UGA to win games on off-days. I believe Stetson didn't throw a single TD pass in three straight games at one point. Against teams w/ really good QBs, Dawgs are a little more at risk as we have seen in last two games vs LSU and OSU. Tell me what QBs do you see on that UGA schedule that pose a threat? Maybe Mizzou QB and Tenn QB? neither are scary.

UGAs biggest risk is not just average(game manager level) play but poor QB play from their own QBs - I believe either Carson Beck or Gunner Stockton will be at least "game manager" but likely a next level up from there - both are more talented in throwing the ball than Stet - but obviously Stet has qualities in playing under pressure and being clutch - that aren't easily replicated.

The real threat for UGA in 2023 is the SECCG and/or possible playoff - could see them losing at either stop there - but should be a free run through the SEC (L)east again. Tennessee is the only threat - and, even if we did lose there - Joe Milton will choke out a few games - he's talented but he will make more bone-head plays than Hooker and UT defense still sucks.

Sounds like somebody is still salty about this past seasons loss to LSU and understands they’re losing again in 2023 LOL

The UGA defense will likely be better next year - even w/ the huge losses of Jalen Carter, Kelee Ringo and Christopher Smith. Look for big jumps from OLB/DE Mykal Walker, Marvin Jones, Jr and DT Bear Alexander. Middle Linebacker room is loaded and there are DBs waiting in the wings that should step up quickly. Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards likely back - WRs will be better and no real dropoff at TE other than DW0's blocking ability - Delp a better receiver than Darnell.

As to Carson Beck, it's not even 100 that he will be the starter - he is the presumed starter and has patiently waited - hearing from insider/booster types that a one to watch is Gunner Stockton - he is very similar to Stetson Bennett from both physical ability and moxie - so UGA has a possible TWO solutions there to replace Stet. I expect Brock Vandagriff to transfer out after spring game if he is #3 on depth chart.

True. Now here's the deal ... they won't have their "B game" at least four weekends next year, either.

That's part of what Smart has done that's pretty cool - I haven't seen GA play a C game. But you have to look at these kind of things, when thinking about the season. Going 12-0 is tough, even when you're the better team on paper.

Mizzou game was definitely a “C game”. You could easily argue, Kentucky & Kent State we’re as well. I believe in Kentucky game that Stetson was very limited due to the cold ?? conditions - he simply couldn’t throw effectively and Kentucky mostly shut down the Dawgs running game - mostly in the red zone. Dawgs weren’t multiple on offense that game which made it much easier on UK defense than it would have on a nice 50 degree Saturday.

LSU offense is going to be really good — we are still not up to par at RB, but there are some dudes with potential to step up on the roster.

LSU defensive line should be hilariously good, like 2019 Auburn good. But the entire second level of the defense is a question mark.

I like where we’re at with house though. On paper, the 2023 team should be much deeper than this year but we are still relying heavily on transfers in secondary, which is always interesting when these guys have no experience playing together or with coaches.

Bama & UGA will be good because they always are. Auburn will be a wild card. Tenn could be good.

I think LSU has a better shot than they did this year to win the west, if they can beat Bama again.

I agree with you I think GA is better overall defensively in 2023. UGA while Kirby is there is going to field a good often great defense. The biggest difference in 18/19/20 and 21/22 is QB play and Kirby trusting our QB. You can’t hold everybody under 2 TD’s no matter how good your defense. It does set a 10 win floor, but great QB play generally is the NC differentiator.

So who has the best QB situation next year? LSU has to feel good about 2023? Maybe FSU?

Bama rebuilding

Alabama hasn't had a rebuilding season in 15 years. Sure, they had a couple of bad years where they only won 11 games, but they were loaded on talent.

There are three schools to me that could be really good or could be bad.

Texas A&M
Florida
Alabama

Texas A&M will be more experienced and they have plenty of talent still. Obviously QB needs to be better but I could see A&M winning the West but it’s also very possible the wheels come completely off.

Florida might be worse than this year but they are Florida and if the defense gets better they can win a bunch of games. The offense looks bad though and the defense will need some freshmen to play well.

I’m not sure there’s ever been a more suspect Alabama team than this one. On paper this might their worst team since Sabans first year. However they have so many talented players, they could be the best in the country. Idk

Wow. Rogers hit the portal? Well best of luck to him, if so. He's been a solid QB for us and had some big wins. Regardless of where he goes, I wish him the best.

I don't know. UT gets your Dawgs in Knoxville next season and that could be a revenge game for them to really get the home crowd into it, the way your fans did in Athens this past season.

Outside of that game, it looks very promising for UGA.

LSU, in all games against SEC Opponents scored 253 points and allowed 257.

Very similar to those 2004 and 2007 Vol teams.
