State 6, Bama 3…November 1, 1980 in Jackson, MS. Bama had a 28 game winning streak, 26 game SEC Conference streak and a 22 game win streak over State. They were back to back NC in 1978 & 1979 and were headed for a third in 1980.

Bama got down to State’s three yard line in the last seconds of the game only to lose the ball on a fumble by Jacobs after a monster hit by Tyrone Keys.

Stadium was absolute pandemonium in the fourth quarter and at the end strangers were hugging strangers. It was so loud Bama’s QB could not be heard calling signals.

Enjoy the last couple of minutes of the game.

I was at both of those ad well.
Was a HS coach for Law’s shot and as soon as it went I told my principal let’s go.

For the LSU game my brother in law left early then griped when he couldn’t get back in. Have a beautiful picture of myself and oldest daughter with the final score in the background

Good thread.

I was in stadium and on the final turn for Michael Johnson Olympic winning 200 in 96. Something about watching him tear up on the podium was pretty special too

Steve Gleason's block of the Falcons' punt in the return to The Dome. Loudest stadium crowd noise I've ever heard.
Or...
Tracy Porter's interception of Brett Farve in the NFC Championship game to basically send the Saints to the Superbowl.

Good: 2014 NBA Finals game 5 when San Antonio won the title vs Miami after choking it away the year before. Bought the tickets after game 1 and lucked out that it ended up being the clinching game.

Bad: Texas National Championship loss to Bama at the Rose Bowl that started their run. (Colt would’ve won)

CFB…pledge class reunion Colorado 5th down game. I’m high fiving with the bros anticipating the impending victory. The (future) wife turns to me and says “that was 4th down!!!” I figuratively pat her on the head as if she doesn’t really understand. She reminds me to this day, but frankly, if you’ve ever seen the movie “Diner” probably part of the reason I married her!

Any sports moment…game 6, 2011 World Series. You couldn’t make a believable movie about that ending!

A couple of great moments include Mike Witt’s perfect game for the California Angels against the Texas Rangers in the ole Arlington Stadium in 1984. It was 1-0 game as well so the pressure was even more heightened on him as the game progressed.

Also saw Cal Ripken hit for the cycle also in Arlington Stadium in 1984. Came to bat in the top of the ninth inning needing a HR. Hit a frozen rope down the LF line for a homer. Was a really cool moment.

Rose Bowl

#1 vs #2 National Championship Game

Southern Cal is “greatest team of all time” and is going to 3-peat to establish dynasty on their home turf according to ALL media

Flash to…4th and 5 from the 9, 24 seconds left in game, down by 5

Sitting directly behind Texas band. Opposite endzone. People are praying, hands and knees. I pray with them. Someone hands me a flask after I say “AMEN” (I was 17 yo) Others are hiding eyes…such a surreal moment… will never forget it.

TOUCHDOWN

Celebration by those who were there can’t be explained… least by my words… 50,000 people became life long best friends in 15 seconds

Just an unbelievable and incredible experience. Feel blessed that i was able to be there
