What would it take for the SEC to poach the ACC's "football schools"?

I know they like the easier schedule and I can't blame them, but eventually the Frankenstein's monster conference that is the ACC has to fall apart. Clemson, FSU, and VT are much better cultural fits in the SEC. Miami isn't as a private school, but their history is with FB (and baseball), not bball like the ACC's royalty in NC. Maybe the ACC will splinter due to the reduced revenue for this season, I know FSU is already in trouble financially

How big do you want this conference? With those 4 you’d be at 18, do you want to poach the 4 good team from every conference and turn the SEC into the NCAA & then break down the new SEC into sub conferences which continues on the cycle into infinite regression.

Why the ACC? What did they do to you? They are just as willing to play as the SEC. Steal the Big Ten ones that care about football instead

We are going back to the old South Conference days with 20 teams.

Why would we want them? 16 teams is two conferences. We already don't get to play the East enough thanks to Mike Slive's incompetent. We don't need to add teams. We need to contract back to 12 team and fix Slive's blunder.

Virginia would go scorched earth if VPI tried to leave. They bent over backwards to get them out of the Big East.

If you go to a 9-game conference schedule, 16 is actually better than 14.

-You would have 4 pods of 4 teams each.
-Each team would play the three teams in their pod, plus 2 teams in each additional pod.

This would guarantee you play every team in the conference at least once every 4 years.

I think poaching is a big reason the ACC and Big 12 are still playing. They know the SEC is going to go on with this as long as it's remotely possible. And they know, if the SEC plays, any conference that doesn't is going to be at a huge disadvantage for years. I don't think I'm over-stating that.

I thing the Big 10 figured that out - hence the crawfishing about now maybe starting up around Thanksgiving. Their commissioner thought he could lead the charge in conferences shutting down. He was - mistaken.

The PAC 12 has decided to destroy college football on the west coast. They won't recover. This will destroy them in revenue, recruiting, and fan enthusiasm.

I gotta' admit - I was always a geek about reading all the rumors and stuff that went on about conference expansion. I still believe the goal of the SEC is to expand regionally, try to limit to one school a state, and try to grab the land grant state schools. I don't think they'll try for Clemson. I think they want UNC. And I think they dream of adding Oklahoma.

For reasons mentioned above, I think the number is sixteen. They want two more schools.

All it takes is for ESPN to want some change in order to increase ad revenue. I'm not saying the SEC will agree, but I'm betting they ask to consolidate the SC and GA market by swapping USC for Georgia Tech. Florida can't be consolidated and the largest market, Miami, is under ACC network control.

We took Missouri, so no, we don’t want the best from every conference.

I think the current ACC grant of rights is in effect until the mid 30's. Are the SEC schools willing to generate a "buy out"?

Okay! Lets see which team to be voted out? One of them will be Auburn!

Nobody is leaving the SEC

And why would an ACC school want to come here? Clemson has 1 tough regular season game a year then they’re in the playoffs. The SEC offers them no advantages

The advantage the SEC gives Clemson over the ACC is $$$, about $25-30million more a year. And the difference grows every year.
Everyone can say what they want to but I and most CU fans that I know would like to play in the SEC every year. That's one reason we schedule so many OOC games with the SEC.

I miss playing uga every year like the 80s.

I remember last time we played Clemson in 2000, y’all beat us 62-9. Horrendous performance

These days, that’s the score of the ACC Championship Game. You guys got a good deal over there
