You walked into the SEC with a bunch of 3* kids and you could barely recruit in the top 25. That's what you walked into the SEC with.

Your recruiting classes prior to joining the SEC were as follows:

2009 - ranked #27
2010 - ranked #16
2011- ranked #34

Manziel 3*
Mike Evans 3*
Ryan Swope 3*

Let's not act like you were swole with elite talent when you entered the SEC and you did fine.

Both OU and even the whornlets consistently recruit at levels far above those rankings of your classes prior to joining the SEC.

In general? Yea, Oklahoma's offense is better. They have better players 1-11 and run the football better than Ole Miss did last year.

Idk if you look at last year’s results, Ole Miss put up more yards (5,062 total yards 562.4 yards per game) than OU (4,758 yards 475.8 yard per game) in one less games, but Sooners averaged 41.8 ppg to Ole Miss’ 40.7 ppg, one team did it against all SEC competition, the other against all Big 12

You’re saying OU has more talent right? So that’s the edge?

Football is an offensive game.

aggy is stuck on 2011 SEC and they don’t realize that the conference took what they brought in with Kevin Sumlin
It is a wide open league today. All about QB play

Of course you need linemen but you need QB and if you don’t have one you won’t win

T and OU have talent. But they don't have the depth to compete for a full season.

UGA, LSU, and A&M disagree.

We will be fine.

you've not been fine when playing a Big 12 schedule. where is this false confidence (hope?) coming from that you'll be fine playing an SEC schedule?

There's just no way to really build a male-sounding voice box yet. The bottom and top surgeries we can do, but TX and OU are going to keep sounding like girls for the time being.

I think it's hard to compare Oklahoma to Ole Miss because Oklahoma has had great offenses for years and Ole Miss had a great one last year for 1 year. I think Ole Miss will be very good again, but I know Oklahoma will.

And yea, I think in the end Oklahoma has better OL and better WRs, generally. Their scheme is also based around a power run game, which Lane's isn't (partly because their OL isn't able, I think). They are 2 of the best offensive coaches in football, I just think Oklahoma probably has a better talent base year in and year out.

I think the biggest thing will be the psychological adjustment. I thing A&M was a better CULTURAL fit. I think these schools will struggle more with that. I think they will both be fine on the field. Although it will be fun to watch Sooner and Longhorn shock when they get more than they bargained for in places like Oxford and Starkville that really aren't even on their radar.

I like how Bama fans will entertain the notion that they were schematically challenged in the late 2000s, but will not entertain the thought that Texas wins that national title fairly easy with an experienced QB. We were averaging 12 yards a play running some basic arse jets and curl patterns. Our defensive line was unblockable in passing situations.

We’ll be fine. Y’all pretend like it’s A&M & Mizzou joining the league. Our defensive line is huge, fast, and deep. Our offensive line depth could be better, but we have a lot of big talented bodies. When you lose to Maryland you arent even on an A&M or Mizzou Level

And we already established that Sherman found a ton of "diamonds in the rough", had a ton of 1st round offensive lineman, and it was the perfect storm with those three 3 stars you mentioned being much better than their recruiting ranking. The defense feasted off having a ton of upperclassmen with experience and playing with a lead most the time. Perfect storm of a team. Then look at the next 5 years

1.) Athletic depth on the lines. Need 300lbs guys that can play sideline-to-sideline on DL and OL that can be effective against 2nd level D. Need to have depth to rotate for 4 quarters.

2.) Violence/Physicality at skill positions. WRs need to block. CBs need to tackle/jam. RB need to help in pass rush.

3.) Play 4 quarters. SEC games generally come down to the last half of the 4th quarter.

Yea, I mean regardless of their recruiting ranking that 2012 Texas A&M OL had four 1st round picks on it. It was an elite unit.

You need to lose the arrogance. It's ok. You will most likely take it deep up the arse your first few years....but if Sark is ok and your big donors stay out of the way you will make progress.

If it goes the other way and Sark gives you the same as Strong and Hermann before him........
