Early 1970s... my dad took me to see Texas play TCU in Ft. Worth. I remember thinking it was really cold. I’m sure Texas won, but don’t remember anything specific about the game.

I saw Texas play Rice in Austin in 1976 or 1977. My dad was walking me around Memorial Stadium before the game and this guy in a suit started talking to us. It was Fred Akers in his first year coaching at Texas. He took us out on the field and showed us where Russell Erkslaben (spelling) was going to kick the worlds longest field goal ...and he did (ATM kicker beat the record the following year I believe). Earl Campbell scored 2 touchdowns in less tha 30 seconds in that game.

I saw Texas play Bama in the Cotton Bowl in the early 1980s. Texas won 14-12. I think it was the final time Bear Bryant lost to Texas.

Oldest memory - watching my Aunt cry after Alabama lost the Punt Bama Punt game to Auburn

First SEC game to attend - My dad took me to the Alabama - Georgia Tech game in Birmingham for my birthday. Didn’t realize I would end up at Georgia Tech.

Fun Day - Watched Van Tiffin kick the 52 yard FG for Bama to beat Auburn on television and then ran across campus to Grant Field to watch Georgia Tech beat Georgia. An overall good football day.

Non SEC Fun Day - was on business trip at Chapel Hill and flew my wife there. Went to Duke - GT game and then drove the 10 miles and went to the Miami - UNC game. Wanted to also go to the Clemson - NC State game just down the road, but it was at the same time as the UNC game.

Georgia vs GT freshman game on Thanksgiving Day late 60's. It was a pretty big deal back then. Always played as Grant Field and usually a sell out.

State vs. LSU 1999. State won on a 4th and goal rush that probably would've been overturned by replay had it been around back then. I was only a kid but I remember it being a lot of fun. LSU was pretty bad that year but I've come to appreciate any win State win over LSU, there have only been three in my lifetime.

An LSU-Arkansas Football game in the late 90s the day after thanksgiving.

I always had family wtih tickets that didn't want to go the day after thanksgiving so either my mom got them or free or super cheap.

That was maybe the best State team ever and one of the worst LSU teams (record-wise at least) and we still should've won. 1992 was LSU's worst team (2-9) and still beat a decent MSU team

1966 LSU basketball scrimmage in Centenary Gold Dome-freshman team (featuring Pete Maravich) played the varsity.

Football was 1970 LSU vs Ole Miss-the Tigers beat Archie Manning and the Rebels 61-17 (I think?)
Tommy Casanova returned a couple of punts for touchdowns.

I remember the game before that at Kyle field. The Aggies returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and Tommy Hodson’s Heisman campaign ended. Couple years later LSU cancelled the series. Any young guys remember this history?

That 1992 game was the turn around at that point in the series. As a kid when I first remember football and into middle school for me(1978-85)State won 6 of 8 over LSU. I thought it was about as a free win as there was. We beat an undefeated 7-0-1 LSU team in 1982 when we finished 5-6. We then handed LSU who at the time was 7-1-1 their only SEC loss in 1984 when we finished 4-7. In high school for me around 1986-89 LSU started dominating again, but State won back to back in 90-91. Then from1992(as stated LSU sucked 2-9, but State was decent 7-4) until the present LSU has won 25 of the last 28 including a 4-7 LSU team beating us 41-6 when we won the SEC West in 1998, and a 4-7 LSU team beating a 8-3 State team in 1994 by 3 TDs. The series totally did a 360 degree turn.. It's the damnedest thing.

I remember watching the '89 Sugar Bowl (well played in 1/1/90) when Miami beat Bama on tv with my dad when I was 7. I would end up going to the Sugar Bowl 3 years later to see Bama destroy Miami
