And while I would never, ever live in Ft. Smith again if I had a choice, it's not that bad. Typical manufacturing, blue collar town.
I was born and raised in Ft Smith, and I miss it. Now, I'd rather live in the Fayetteville/Springdale area - but I'd move back to Ft Smith given the same job/income I have now.

Oh, it's a classic movie, but they bastardize the state of Louisiana without restraint.
The funny part is... the championship game stadium is actually South Carolina's Williams-Brice Stadium.

Louisiana has an absolutely abysmal public school system and an antipathy for funding education in general.
It should not therefore shock anyone to discover LA and MS rank 48-50 in scales ranking education - or that many employers (even within the state of Louisiana) preferentially hire out of state candidates over people educated in Louisiana.

Louisiana (where I grew up): our politics, esp. our governors, with the exception of Governor Jindal.
Alabama (where I live): our politics, esp. our governors, with the exception of Riley and the current one. Plus Alabama fans.

umrebel, the question is what are you most embarrassed about, not who has been embarrasing you over the last few years.

currently its our tool bag politicians who are trying to get rid of all critical thinking in our educational system due to the fear it potentially causes kids to question their fixed beliefs and parental authority.
