There are a lot of very wealthy people across the South who consider Sankey to be a friend and who love college football. LSU/Kiffin humiliated Sankey and created an existential threat to college football. You are fricking retarded if you think these kinds of people are just going to let this all go....

People keep saying this on the SEC RANT (fans of other schools obviously) but I have yet to see this mentioned anywhere on any site or news reporting.
I’d also like to see where this rumor started from.
Even if true I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. As an LSU fan, I’m not in favor of pro players coming back to college. But there was a legal gray area with the new 5 year rule that the most recent graduates didn’t have the opportunity to take advantage of and Lane’s job is to find the best players to win football games. If that’s two players who didn’t make NFL rosters, who likely have (and do) have the legal ability to take advantage of that rule then I don’t see the problem. I think a judge anywhere even ultimately in the Supreme Court would allow them to play. But that’s more of an indictment of how messy college sports are now anyway. They shouldn’t have let it get this far by granting additional years to people like Chambliss or Pavia, letting ex pros like Bediako come back and the kid at Baylor. Without those precedents, this would have never happened.
I also don’t see how using a Louisiana judge is any different than Chambliss using a Mississippi judge to fraudulently claim his additional year. Or Bediako using an Alabama judge. Or countless other examples where people use local judges to get what they want

I think it's a different issue, and LSU should expect all sorts of random bs all season.
It's not about Lane Kiffin, it's about LSU blowing up a fellow conference member's (Ole Miss) season by hiring their coach away during a playoff run. And the fact that they beat UGA and almost beat Miami with interim coaches means they might actually have won.
Sankey and the rest of the SEC consider that poor form, and they're going to give LSU hell all season, just watch.

Now LSU fans think we should just drop all charges and move on. Nope. There will be consequences.
I suspect the SEC will simply demand LSU issue a formal apology and an admittance that they were in the wrong along with some type of punishment for Kiffin... ie a 2-3 game suspension and a fine. But the SEC might be trying to set a big example and it wouldn't shock me if that got expanded into a postseason ban or an outright firing of Kiffin. We shall see.
One thing I do know: this isn't just going away now like nothing ever happened.
We tried to tell yall that a week ago but yall went forward with your show trial and your big talk over the weekend. This could have easily been avoided.
Nope. Not one word of this is correct. LSU did nothing wrong within the set of rules given to them AND nothing much different from what Texas, Ole Miss, South Carolina, etc. were doing. If you want to blame someone, look at your incompetent, unprofessional commissioner instead.

The evidence the SEC has is for the charge of LOIC. That court hearing is for today.
The court appearance last week was a Baton Rouge Kangaroo Court in which the SEC was a Defendent... no reason to show evidence when that hearing wasn't about LSU's LOIC.
