lol should we just sticky this then for this time next year?

We still have happy feet at QB, we lost the OL. And probably our two best WRs… we also lost Mason Taylor.

We haven’t (yet) brought anything in for OLine. By LSU standards we’ve brought in meh recruiting classes and transfer class.

Realistically we probably slightly downgraded at every position except for CB. And even if you were to tell me the unproven kids on the OL will somehow be just as good. And the transfer TE will somehow be just as good as Mason Taylor. And maybe the WRs will be just as good as Lacy and Daniels. The DEs a push, probably a loss too. And then i think CB is only positon we upgraded….

That makes us more or less the same team as last year. A team that had 4 losses (and should have been more). Nuss still the QB and he aint got it, so it’s moot anyway even if we did have the guys around him.

Fact is this team is not a title contending team for 2025 and it’s already evident in December 2024.

To me that’s not acceptable for LSU standards. It’s odd to me that not only are some people okay with it, theyre happy with it. I guess that’s what years of settling does to your program mentality tho

“Attacking the portal”???

The best player we got so far is the 18th ranked player in the portal, next best in the high 30s

The 7th best player is an LSU fan and a position of need (OL) and somehow didn’t land him.

Gonna be a lot of angry Tiger fans this time next year
Agree. People keep hating but I don’t see what we’re supposed to be excited about.

Lost our best recruits. Missed out on the best transfers.

I personally think we’re in really bad shape (which at LSU may mean only another 8-4 but I consider that a huge failure).

I don’t think this roster makes the playoffs. I don’t see how this roster is better than last years.

The entire OL is gone (except the worst player). You can make the argument that Pickett and Jackson will bring stability to the DBs but that’s yet to be proven, and realistically a wash with everything else we lost.

I just don’t get what there is to be excited about? What are we pumping? LSU lost their best recruits at the death, and Ole Miss bought all the best transfers?

Exactly what are we happy about that shows we can make the playoff next year?
what’s wrong about it? For the OL it’s three unproven children, the worst OLmen from last year returning, and then hopefully an ACC transfer.

Doesnt look great.

Neither does the WR room.

You can pump all you want and then just be frustrated again at the end of the year next year. Im just putting the forewarning out, if this is the team next season we aint making the playoff
Brealin Moore also is not on this team yet (although expected to be official later today)

OL even worse without him there.

Hopefully that one does go thru
Yikes.

That OL looks terrible.

WR room weak too.

Gonna be a long season

Fernando Mendoza would start here and everyone would be ecstatic after a few games.

Casuals don’t know him because he played at Cal.

But he’s as good of a QB as there is. Tough as nails. Amazing pocket awareness. Can run if he needs to. LSU Burrow-esque.

He’d beat out Nuss if we were able to pull him.

Dream transfer for me

You could tell Burrow was magical in his first year tho, it was very evident he had “it”.

Less so with Daniels, but his dual threat run ability helped him out.

Nuss hasn’t shown anything. Bad pocket composure. Bad footwork. Bad throws. No running.

To me he is neck and neck with like a Miller moss who just signed with Louisville. Sounds about right for nuss too. A mid level ACC school seems like his ceiling.

Id rather take a swing with someone else. We know with nuss at the helm the absolute best we can be is a 2 or 3 loss team and probably on the outside of the playoffs

And only 3ints, yea.

And 450 rushing yards and 3 rushing tds.

Mendoza is my favorite portal QB but realistically anybody will do

If Mr. Backfoot, Scared in the Pocket, No Running Ability is LSUs starting QB next year then I hope yall are okay not making the Playoffs again.

I believe in Hurley. But compared to Nuss specifically, Arnold was more enticing to me. Fernando Mendoza from Cal would maybe be my top choice. He’s easily ready to lead a team like LSU. Great leader and QB. The kid from FSU is the highest rated QB and seems like a dual threat, don’t know anything about him but I’d take that too.

We need a dual threat QB. The ceiling is capped with Nuss.

Mendoza would be awesome

Hate that for us. One i wished we were after.

Not sure why we aren’t pushing hard for a portal QB to start over Nuss
Number 8 highest paid and can’t make a 12 team playoff?

He’s better than Nuss.

Solid QB and mobile when he needs to be. Plus really good pocket awareness.

Id have him start over Nuss in a heartbeat.

He’s a good player
