well, no sport is important. by definition, a sport is unimportant. See if you can wrap your brain around that fact.

Everything in BB is earned on the court. You never hear about the champion being invited because they pass the “eye test”.

Sports bring massive revenue to the campus. For example, Alabama brings in almost 82 million and the total football expenses is almost 37 million. That extra money funds other sports programs, and helps improve the academic side of the university....

I can not hate on UK. They are usually my go to this time of year when the NCAAs start. More power to them. They are the class of the SEC when it comes to BB.

UA...not so much since they are our instate rival. Probably hate them more than any team. (No offense...not like I wish them bad or injuries. I hated to see their player smack his head on the floor. It's just a sports rivalry. It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.)

That's not true at all. Some athletic departments give more money back to the school than what they receive in subsidies (Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, and LSU in the SEC).

This. All four are very profitable and give a ton back to their universities. TAMU might be up there too. I don't remember.

Maybe TAMU does now. This is from early 2016.

Neither, it’s good for the league and if you’re good enough you’ll beat them. It takes a sad sack to want to beat bad teams just so you can say you won.

If you spend the time to post about a sport as much as you then your claim is untrue since what you give your time to is what you consider important.

meh, I can understand the hate for Bama because Bama actually dominates on a national scale. Kentucky just hasn't been dominant as of late and only has two titles in the last 20 years

And who has been dominant in CBB then?

quote:

However, it is worth noting that Kentucky and Duke have been to the same number of national championship games (two) in Calipari’s eight seasons at UK. Mike Krzyzewski won both, while Calipari won one. But in the six non-title-game years for each program in that span, UK went to four Elite Eights and two Final Fours; Duke to just one Elite Eight and no Final Fours.

While entertaining, a single elimination tournament is about the worst possible way to decide a champion in basketball. I think they have as many AP #1 finishes as Alabama football.

Bama football, UK hoops, NY Yankees, and New England Patriots fans are the worst.

I’ve actually seen more dual Auburn/Kentucky fans because of the vet school deal.
That makes sense. Kentucky's vet school caters to horses(equine), while Auburn is known for being a cow (bovine) and chicken school.
