Just want to say that if not for UK basketball or Bama football, there would be no SEC as we know it now.

Not sure what Wildcats have in basketball but Bama is definitely "Dixie's football pride".

Hope that does not trigger some of the weak ones.

But who would replace their production...? What would the SEC even look like... which of these other programs would be the SEC Boss...? Interesting question.

Well I’m from Lexington, went to UK, then transferred to and graduated from Bama. My mom played basketball for Bama and my brother played tennis for UK. I like both schools, more than just in one sport apiece. I really don’t enjoy watching them play each other, be it in football, basketball or whatever.

So i guess i am an unapologetic college sports bigamist.

Ok, this Alabama football/Kentucky basketball fan is bull shite. I have literally never seen one of those in my life. Ever. Most hardcore Alabama football fans don't give a shite about basketball.

Hell aside from a kid at my school in the fourth grade, I have never met a bandwagon college fan. I grew up in Mobile and every single person I know is a fan of the same school they were fans of 20 years ago*

*exceptions being the people who went to a different school than the one they grew up rooting for

TenBears and I will be pulling for Big Blue. The Cats have been getting it done for years in BB. Salute to them. Trying to talk others down to your level isn't a great plan but it is used often.

Do you have a clue as to how many "at large" teams are in the tournament?...those are ALL "eye test" teams.

No, they are in because of the RPI alone. USC passed the "eye test", but didn't make it.

USC is the highest RPI team to miss the tournament since the field expanded to 68. Their RPI is higher than : UCLA, Butler, Alabama, Missouri, Creighton, Syracuse, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas State, Florida state, Virginia Tech, NC State and Arizona State. If they chose the field based on RPI alone then USC, MTSU, Louisville and Saint Mary's would all be in.

USC is exactly the opposite of the point you are trying to make.

meh, I can understand the hate for Bama because Bama actually dominates on a national scale. Kentucky just hasn't been dominant as of late and only has two titles in the last 20 years

The question is what if all those one and done athletes at UK had stayed 2-3 years? How many NC do you think UK would have won?

Yeah, because buying 85 players would be much cheaper than buying 8...... I do not know......

I don't get pissed off so much about Bama anymore, because when that dynasty falls, it's going to be fricking ugly over there.

Yeah, because at Alabama we have only had one coach win multiple NCs while being Bama's head coach.......

While we will be sorry when Coach Saban leaves, we will have lived through another dynasty at Alabama and will be waiting for the next one......

and it will happen, maybe not for a couple of years, but it will happen........after all this is Alabama we are talking about

But unlike football, they passed the eye test. Everyone questioned how a team that was ranked #4 at on time didn’t make to tourney. How does a team who has a losing conference record and only 4 games above .500 make it? RPI

The only teams I can assume you are talking about with "ranked #4 at one time" are Oklahoma and Arizona State.

They both made the NCAA Tournament, so I'm not sure what you are talking about.
