Sounds like they should just reward championships off of tv ratings. That’s all anyone seems to care about anymore. They’d rather have a shite team in an untapped tv market than an actual reputable program

I'm surprised ESPN did not purchase the right to pick the 4 playoff teams.

Rutgers is going to be flying to LA for baseball as well. That’s the direction this whole thing is going.

What have we done in the last few expansions indicates that at all? Thats all i’m trying to say. 5/6 of our last expansion schools have been North and West not South and East

I’m going to support LSU. It sucks but look at the facts 5 of our last 6 expansions were to the north and west not to the south or east. Like it or not that’s what the facts tell us. Other than that none of us have a fricking clue what’s going to happen all you can do is speculate.

Virginia Tech does?

Yes, in actuality they do. They have an SEC like obsession for college sports; their academic focus in aligned with most of the conference, and they would get the SEC into the D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh markets.

SEC has ATL, STL, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Nashville, New Oreleans, Tampa

BIG has LA, NYC, Chicago, DC, Philly

First and foremost is for the SEC to keep BIG out of ATL. SEC cant compete with that lineup of markets without getting creative. Snagging ND would be the obvious nuclear grand slam but it wont happen. Adding Clemson would help nationally to an extent but most already view them "like" the SEC. The best play for SEC in my opinion would be to go get the basketball bluebloods Kansas, UNC, Duke and bring in a national brand. I think that would propel the SEC into more rooms by far but would SEC add football doormats???

Who says that we have to follow the B1G blueprint, and if I'm being honest, I think we're better off maintaining the status quo and strengthening our position with the ACC? Also, if Notre Dame stays in the ACC (which nothing has led me to believe that they won't) then this entire discussion is moot.

The SEC network can only charge .30 cents a month in states that don’t have an SEC school.

On the other hand… the SECN can charge $1.30 for every subscriber if there is an SEC school located within that state.

I’d imagine the easiest teams to bring over would be teams that already have annual games with SEC opponents (Louisville, FSU, GT, and Clemson). That would make 20. Add Miami, VT, UNC, and NC St. to make 24. That should manageable to a degree. I miss the rivalry we had with GT and FSU in the 80s.

I doubt you're gonna get UNC unless it's part of a package deal.

75% of the talent is in the SEC’s footprint and within 25 years so will 40% of the nations population. SEC will be ok.

my four would be.........UNC, NC St., Duke and Clemson...........with Va. being the next one out.

(I would rather have Va. than NC St., but you aren't getting UNC without them)

Cultural fit matters to the SEC

No it doesn't. The Longhorns are the worst possible cultural fit, with Missouri not far behind.

It is all about money. The SEC will take the schools that make them the most money. End of story.

BTW, Sankey would crawl over glass to get Notre Dame to join if they were interested. Dont kid yourselves.

Georgia Tech will NEVER be in the SEC AGAIN.
They threw that away in 1963 because they were selfish and greedy.
