You gonna support a conference that goes from opposite corners of the country?

The SEC has locked itself into the southeast, stuck with taking schools from its own footprint. The SEC's poor leadership and lack of foresight in expansion has left it a regional conference and we all know how that will play out when regional brands go up against national ones.

The SEC network can only charge .30 cents a month in states that don’t have an SEC school.

On the other hand… the SECN can charge $1.30 for every subscriber if there is an SEC school located within that state.

So, Stanford would bring enormous value to the payout

do you want your University paying to fly there for baseball, men's and women's basketball, softball, gymnastics, etc., etc., etc.? I would rather that money go to buying football players.

You bring up a good point. With these footprints getting out of hand, I look for some non-revenue sports to get cancelled. Title IX doesn't say how many teams you have to have - just that you have to have equal numbers.

Have you been to Missouri dipshit?

Habla Espanol?

Miami, a cultural fit for the SEC.

Drugs hurt man. Stop.

don't think basketball matters one bit in any of this. Basketball is just what happens between bowl season and spring practice, in the big scheme.

Im talking about eyes on tv sets. Adding more football schools from southeast or coastal region does nothing. Kansas, UNC, Duke basketball are national. Having UK, Kansas, UNC, Duke in bball and Bama, AU, UGA, UF, Tenn, LSU, Texas and OU in football would dominate all conferences without a doubt

Have you seen John Calipari's product lately ? We're a football school now. A mediocre football school, but a football school all the same.

Adding Va. Tech and Maryland gets us strong in the DC market

I'm not sure if Duke and Kansas can hold/increase our pay outs per school which is what the conference will base its decision on but I like the idea of improving our basketball and adding those schools would accomplish that.

That leaves Baylor, KU, Okie Light, Kansas State, TCU, Texas Tech, Houston... just pure garbage.

Duke, UNC, and UVa all do in basketball and academics. Clemson would be a fantastic addition as well. Miami and FSU are currently down, but their histories prove they have a lot to offer in football and baseball.

Add Texas Tech if for no other reason than the comical value of watching them beat Aggy. Tech had more SWC wins vs aggy, Tech also had more Big12 wins verses Aggy.

The best part is watching Aggies go completely unhinged when it happens. The Alamo Bowl in Lubbock is the perfect example. You had it all, Gap Kids poking Aggies with the goal post, Aggies not leaving after the game was over. Aggies hitting other Aggies. Mike Leach on the radio making fun of aggies. It was greAt.

poor aggies

Because travel for minor sports would be insanely expensive. So we're gonna fly tennis, baseball, softball, and soccer teams to the Pacific Northwest instead of putting them on a bus to the Carolinas?

You know we play other sports besides football and basketball, right?

It’s about TV and Money. Basketball is all March Madness.

So SEC should go after NC, ND and Arizona, maybe Utah. Have to become more national. Lesser sports like Baseball, etc will be in two divisions with little overlay.

FSU,Miami adds little as we have UF in the conference.

Clemson is strange because we have USCe, but they are not as well known. Still a small state so not as attractive to TV.

I think the SEC has done it right. Focus on bigger names in the state in our relative region and prioritizing performance rather than city. OU matters more for TV sets than UCLA.

Candidates out of big 12 would be okie state TCU Kansas Baylor but I don’t think any bring enough to the table that we don’t already have

Given the previous history then that leaves moving east and raiding the ACC.

Clemson and FSU despite not “expanding the footprint” add enough name brand to add to TV rights and fit culturally.

Miami is right there with them.

Georgia tech in theory adds Atlanta but Georgia is UGAs. This is like adding Rutgers. It does nothing.

Next are outside the footprint

UVA UNC Duke. Gotta get vandy and UT on board for recruitment. When you show the university president s the money they will get on board.

Va tech and nc state next.

My bet is Clemson and one of UVA or UNC.

Between vandy UT UF and UGA there’s now enough academics for UVA and UNC to justify leaving the ACC for the SEC

I wouldn't. No need to repeat Kevin Warren's mistake. This national footprint he's trying to build is going to backfire. Bigly.
