This. Actually about the same timeline with me. After watching VT's fanbase literally quadruple during the Michael Vick years, I have determined that they are nothing but fair-weather rednecks who think they actually have an elite football team.
Literally every tangible thing about VT sucks. Their fans are insufferable, even compared to the worst sidewalk fans of the SEC. The town sucks and is in the middle of nowhere. Their colors suck. They have no traditions worth mentioning. Michael Vick is the only thing that their program has, and at this point he's more famous for bankrolling a dog-fighting ring.

Washington Huskies. Lived in the area for a few years and have family up there. Beautiful area and the people were awesome. They loved to hear me talk. But, Texas is still home.
