re: Did Vol Fans Travel for the Game?

There were a lot of TN fans on the opposite side but the camera rarely showed that side. Look up pics of the game and you will see.

If Tennessee had just a little more intensity and a break or two they win. So frustrating.

Agreed. Stokes can't do anything with the ball that far out and no time left. Give it to the hot hand McRae. Very disappointed with whatever Cuonzo drew up there. Then again, he's a terrible coach in in game situations

re: Is Les Miles the new Phil Fulmer? (Posted on 10/20/13 at 12:56 pm to ChicagoVol) its not the firing that was yalls problem it was the following up hire. bama and uf aren't scared to replace a coach that isn't a title winner. if bama was they would still have mike shula based off his 05 year instead of replacing him one year later to bring in the greatest coach of all time. uf would be short of two titles if they had the attitude of well if we fire zook we might be worse than now. they fired zook and brought in urban to win another two national titles. I still think we need major staff shake ups and then if next year is another fail we fire les miles B, I'm from Louisiana
Les Miles is a title winning coach. I don't know how you can compare him with Shula or Zook, but I understand your frustrations. I remember when 10 win seasons weren't good enough for the Vols.

LSU with Miles recently reminds me a lot of Tennessee in the early to mid 2000's before it hit the fan (Georgia even more so). Be careful of knee jerk firing/hiring decisions LSU. In this league it can really hurt you.

Agreed. I'm very worried about our QB's and WR's. Even more than I am worried about our defense.

If you can't appreciate thousands of people passionate enough to show up for a freakin scrimmage, then you don't really love football. Doesn't matter what team you like/hate.

The white shirt orange pants are my favorite. I also like the traditional home and away. Warming up to the grey. Like most, I'm not a fan of the all orange look.

Campus will be MUCH improved in 5-10 years. New University Center, extension of the pedestrian walkway, makeovers of the Cumberland Strip and Volunteer Ave, new green spaces etc. are all in the works or under construction right now.

As long as the detailing on the home unis is toned down in real life I like these. I really like the away ones.
re: As of 6/19, the #1 team in recruiting is... Kentucky???

Agreed. Rankings in June mean nothing. Still, this is TN's best start in years. I'll take it. Kentucky being relevant in recruiting is shocking.

For food: Tupelo Honey, Tomato Head (both in Market Square) or Nama Sushi Bar (few blocks away on Gay St).
To drink: Preservation Pub (Market Square), Downtown Grill and Brewery (Gay St) or Half Barrel (The Strip).
If you want to leave the downtown UT area check out Dead End BBQ and Bearden Beer Market.
Tons of options downtown. All of these are my favorite places.

No one who has had to sit through a game at Neyland with someone's knees in their backs, or not been able to get up and down the steps because they aren't wide enough for two-way traffic, or had to stand up every time someone goes up and down the steps because the seats literally have your feet in the aisle, would ever rate Neyland Stadium in the top 50% of stadiums in the conference, I'm happy Neyland has been such a terrible experience for you. I want all non Tennessee fans to have a horrible experience in that stadium, especially when TN starts to win again. I figure there is a 50% chance you are morbidly obese. That combined with the fact that you are an Alabama fan means I have zero % sympathy for you. The seats aren't that cramped. It's an old building. Quit bitching like a woman. Who said it was a terrible experience? Just because the place is a dump that was built with an erector set doesn't mean that we don't have awesome experiences there. Hell, I even bought season tickets there in 2010, but I couldn't even give away the non-Alabama tickets. You really need to get out more and get to some other stadiums. This post was edited on 6/13 at 11:34 am
How could I have ever misinterpreted all your bitching about aisle space and knee room as having a terrible experience? Were the women's restrooms also too dirty? And what Alabama fan buys season tickets to UT football? I'd rather flush my money down the toilet then give any of it to your school. And how would you know how many venues I've been to? I'm a college football fan. I enjoy epic venues with great tradition and atmosphere. I don't sit around and marvel at the architecture or how wide the seats are. People who say Neyland sucks are either Tennessee haters or haven't been to a game there before 2008 when the program tanked.

You've put entirely too much thought into this. Tennessee made two bad coaching hires. South Carolina has Steve Spurrier. End of discussion.
