We are not a hurry up no huddle. We are just a no huddle team. That is not the problem. Play clock is normally down under 10 before we snap it.

They are soft and often out of position

LSU should not talk about depth and talent issues. Most teams would kill to have the roster they have to work with

I mean, that is like saying Bama has depth and talent issues. No, both programs have coaching issues

Complacency, generally. Leads to bad angles and lackluster tackling effort.

Some guys are playing hurt. Some key positions lack experience, which leads to giving up big plays when they make mistakes.

Last night, Ole Miss started using misdirection and executed very well. And Plumlee is an explosive player.

Sure meant more that your offense scores in 30 seconds and defense can't stay off the field

DL personnel are just not that good. Pass rush is non-existent unless we rush at least 5.

Chaisson is no where near the type of player he was hyped up to be. The rest of the LB corp is inconsistent.

Stingley and Fulton have been solid

As for Delpit...

During the summer, Delpit hurt his ankle and was supposed to miss the first 2-3 weeks of the season. He didn't miss a game, but he was awful and nothing like the All-American we saw his first 2 years. Missing tackles left and right and a liability in coverage.

After the Vandy game, he looked like his old self against UF, Miss St, & Auburn. Then he gets hurt again at the end of the auburn game low and low & behold he's back to being a liability. (TLDR I'm 90% sure he's battling a lingering injury)

I believe it’s due to them missing on Patrick Surtain, and them not having a backup option that year. They went all in on Patrick. Then we lost a former five star to Kentucky this year. I still don’t understand why he left. Lsu secondary just isn’t as good as it has traditionally been.

Combine that with some misses on some defensive tackles, and bingo. LSU has had some years where they only got 1 or 2 defensive linemen committed. It’s coming home to roost.

I know, right? We gave up 41 points to a mid-tier SECW team with a QB who had a gimpy ankle.

I believe coaching is definitely bad. But LSU missed on some recruits. And I don’t mean they got them into the program and they weren’t good. I mean they went all in on kids and then the kids went elsewhere. They had a few recruiting cycles where they only got a few defensive tackles.

It’s going to cost them a game this year but they won’t admit it.

Against OSU or Clemson it just might. We'll be fine until then.

We go run heavy after going up a few scores and it fricks us every time. It’s so frustrating. Just Let Burrow play like we are losing

Not tackling seems to be the biggest issue. Delpit put on a clinic last night of poor tackling.

I personally believe it's a philosophical thing meshing with the players we have. Our DL is too big and unathletic to create a pass rush. We need to change up the way Bama did a few years back and go to more athletic guys at DE. Definitely need something to change.

The style of defensive players we recruited are not suited for this style of offensive play. Bama been doing it for years now so they are better equipped to handle depth issues

A combination of scheme and letting down with large leads. They are forcing 3 and outs consistently when they need to but they are giving up big plays.

Complacency. We seen them play great first halves against Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss, just to sleep through the second halves. It was opposite in tbe Florida game. It's good old fashioned laziness.
