The teams that could win it all are UGA, Texas, Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee.
You just listed the only teams that could win it all even if Bama and Ole Miss had been placed in the playoffs.

The good thing about being in the SEC is if you're an upper echelon team in the conference, you have a chance to win it all.
What's the point of being Notre Dame and constantly making the playoff but getting bounced out in the first round?
Sure Alabama got left out this year, but they probably weren't good enough to win it all anyway.
People will ignore it because I'm an Alabama fan, but I don't actually care about the Alabama part. It's about how teams are selected and why they are selected.
Teams that play weak schedules and do not win against the few good teams they play should not be rewarded for it.
Playing against weak teams and/or less games can hide your flaws, result in less injuries and give you more playing time for your depth.

SoS isn’t why Bama got beat down by Vandy and Oklahoma. If Bama was a championship caliber team, they wouldn’t have lost those games.
But you call teams that play a SoS in the 80's and lost to the only 2 good teams they played championship caliber.
Ignore Alabama for a minute. I'm pretty sure Ole Miss and USC both have more ranked wins against ranked teams than Indiana, SMU, Clemson and Boise St combined.
Indiana - 0-1
SMU - 0-2
Clemson has 1 win against SMU, lost to both SEC teams it played, USC being one of them.
Boise St - 0-1
If you consider these to be 4 championship caliber teams, it makes it hard for me to consider you intelligent.

Which is more "championship caliber"? A team that didn't have a true signature win or a team that took multiple bad losses?

First ask yourself what is the point of college football? The point of college football for me is to be entertained by watching my team play against teams like Ole Miss, Florida and Alabama week in and week out, with an occasional foray against a quality OCC opponent. That's because I like watching college football during the fall.
Exactly this. Who really wants to watch 12 powderpuff games against easy opponents and have to wait until the playoffs to figure out if their team is any good? Give me OU, Arky, and tamu and then stack the schedule with the best teams out there.

If you are going to have losses, you better have some quality wins to offset it.
There has never been 12 championship caliber teams in the history of the sport and there never will be.
When we had the 4 team playoff, not once did the 4th place team actually have a claim at being in the national championship game(the reason we extended to 4). It was just a byproduct because some years 3 teams had a legitimate claim.
The more teams they add, the worse it will get.

2014 - OSU #4
2017 - Alabama #4
The fact that they won is claim enough,

I get that you're emotional
Wishcasting. I have clearly stated I did not want to see Milroe in the playoffs. There is no argument for leaving all three 3-loss SEC teams out in favor of some of the teams that made it in like Indiana, SMU, and Notre Dame. The committee has given us an absolutely abysmal and uninteresting slate of games.

The fans who are defending the dog shite system I’ve seen in this thread are Arkansas A&M and several LSU fans.
Ole Miss will most likely make the playoffs in the near future if you continue on your current trajectory BECAUSE of this "dog shite system".
Ole Miss is now able to play for a NC with 2 losses.
Ole Miss has never had fewer than 2 losses in a season in your lifetime.
Don't be so ungrateful.

Texas is a good example of what you're talking about.

Agree need to probably adjust schedules to be voted on and awarded by strength of schedule in sec to ensure everyone eats equal amounts of poop. Then completely scrap ooc games.
Unfortunately that’s only answer I see to have thing equal

If you're scared, just say you are scared.
