There is actually a higher tier warning that can be issued by the NWS. It is called a Flash Flood Emergency. The NWS issued one for the Hunt area around 4am and for Kerrville around 530am.
“Flash Flood EMERGENCY
issued for the EXCEEDINGLY RARE situations when extremely heavy rain is leading to a severe threat to human life and CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE from a flash flood is happening or will happen soon. Typically, emergency officials are reporting LIFE-THREATENING water rises resulting in water rescues/evacuations.”
You are correct. In addition to the Guadalupe, Cypress Creek and a dry wash also converge there. With the amount of rain and the narrowness of the banks, I imagine the water was coming from all sides.
There are no dams of any significance in that area. What you have are weir dams that are used to create small ‘lakes”. The “dam break” came from the girls that survived. What they witnessed was most likely the wall of water from the flash flood.

Quick Paris Trip

Posted by tarpley2000 on 6/10/25 at 7:36 pm
Daughter is in Italy studying abroad and the wife and daughter are planning on meeting in Paris for a quick 4-day trip. Neither have been before.

Hotel wise we were looking at the Hotel Le Cercle near the Eiffel Tower. It seems to be in a nice area and has great reviews.

Any recommendations for guided tours? Or use the hotel concierge to arrange? Or just do excursions on their own?

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Wife’s grandfather lived in the same house his entire life. His parents built it in late 1890’s. He was born in it. Worked on the farm his entire life. When he got married it was added on to and he and my wife’s grandmother lived there with his parents. Almost 90 years in the same place.
Truly curious. Who do you think is the deserving champion?
2014 - OSU #4
2017 - Alabama #4

The fact that they won is claim enough,

You will get more replies on the OT Lounge.
Did they account for a sales tax on the purchase of real estate? I would think by applying the current sales tax of 6.25% to all real estate purchases a substantial amount of money would be raised every year.

In addition cutting out the CAD bureaucracy would be a savings.

And at the end of the day you would own your property outright and not have to deal with the stress of the current property tax system.
Book called “On Killing” by Dave Grossman. Excellent book on the psychology of killing.
I definitely know it wasn’t the one in the video. Most likely the team to viewers right of the stage. They had a clear line of sight.

In regard to the delay of return fire, I am unsure. The tree in question could be larger than google shows and even the 2nd team had a hard time finding him. Most likely one teams sector was the left half and the others the right half of the roofs.

Also you have to realize there a lot of roofs from the counter snipers perspective. Google shows 4 buildings minimum. Without the shooter popping up right away not as easy as it seems to lay eyes on him.
This is only my “professional opinion” and only refers to the counter snipers actions - not the FUBAR leading up to the shot.

The two counter snipers behind Trump in the video did not have the shooter in their line of sight. They were searching for him (likely had coms that someone was on roof. Would like to see video of when they got on their scopes compared to when the crowd noticed shooter.).

As I had said previously the position of the shooter was obscured from the counter snipers view by the tree.

The reason the guy came off his scope was more than likely because coms called out the shooter popping over the roof ridge. Since the counter sniper did not see the shooter in his scope he pulled off so he could visually try to see where shooter was. Of course the shooter then shoots. Think about the timing of the guy coming off his scope and the shooters first shot.

The counter sniper team flinching and ducking is an expected response from them considering they have no visual on the shooter. If you have ever been shot at you would understand this. There is a reason the USSS undergoes extensive protective training. It takes training to not flinch or duck for cover.

I can assure you that if the counter sniper team had a visual on the shooter they would NOT have came off their scopes. Their actions are consistent with someone not having a target in sight.

No it’s not. The second one is the accurate one. Chopper video showed the sniper dead on the roof where the 2nd layout notes the sniper.
The sniper team in video did not have the shooter in sight. Their pre and post reactions are indicative of not having a visual of the shooter. No way that counter sniper comes off his scope if he had the shooter in his sight.
Sniper team on left(video) did not have shooter in sight. Shooter was obscured by a tree if you look at chopper video. Sniper team on viewers right likely took shooter out. Chopper video confirms.
Most likely the counter sniper team positioned to viewers right of stage took the kill shot. The sniper team in the video did not have a line of sight in the shooter. There was chopper video that showed the shooter on the roof (dead) and if you triangulate his position to that of the sniper team in video there is a tree between them.
The sniper team to right of stage would have had a clear line of sight from the chopper video.
The sniper coming off his scope was looking for the shooter and could not find him. I can promise you if he had the shooter in his sight he would not have come off his scope.
