re: That offense is not going to cut it.

It’s just too soon to tell. That defense was clearly fantastic and neither Arch nor Sark had the benefit of tape to help prepare.
It’s encouraging to me that Sark was able to sit with Arch during halftime and give him some tips to read the disguised coverages better, and Arch was then able to actually adjust and do it.
Let’s also be real—that game was a decided by a few lucky plays. OSU can’t count on a receiver snatching a disrupted catch out of the air in the endzone. So, this wasn’t a decisive victory by any stretch.
On the plus side, we got out of there with no injuries and we have a bunch of easy games in September to let Arch and the offensive settle in before we start the gauntlet in October. I’m optimistic this team is going to be a playoff team with a little more time.

re: What is the point of playing in the SEC?

First ask yourself what is the point of college football? The point of college football for me is to be entertained by watching my team play against teams like Ole Miss, Florida and Alabama week in and week out, with an occasional foray against a quality OCC opponent. That's because I like watching college football during the fall.
Exactly this. Who really wants to watch 12 powderpuff games against easy opponents and have to wait until the playoffs to figure out if their team is any good? Give me OU, Arky, and tamu and then stack the schedule with the best teams out there.

if quinn makes those standard (for him) boneheaded plays against georgia we lose. I don't have the answer and clearly neither does sark.
Completely agree. He has not taken the step forward we all hoped for this year, and it’s made our offense predictable to a great coach like Kirby. We don’t have a huge playbook. We just try to run the same plays with a lot of misdirection and movement to disguise what is happening. Kirby has already shown he can get his guys ready for that, so I’m definitely afraid of a repeat whooping in Atlanta.
re: Guys this is real bad.

I’m more concerned that what Georgia did feels repeatable by other teams. Quinn didn’t just look bad, he showed some glaring weaknesses in his tool kit—like the inability to throw on the run.
He’s always been good for an few inexplicably bad throws, but I’m starting to worry he’s got a lower ceiling than we thought.

Maybe. But he looked straight up confused about how to throw on the run. And I don’t think that’s gonna fly in todays QB play.

Sark made promises to Ewers in order to get him to return. Switch won’t be made unless they lose to Vandy next week as well
Not that I’d ever want to agree with an Aggie, but I agree. And it’s not entirely unfair. Quinn could have done okay in the draft last year. It’d kill his career if he got benched for Manning. While I think it probably should happen, and still might if we lose to Vandy, I can accept that it won’t. I’d hate to do that to a kid, too.

Agreed. Good game and congrats Georgia. Y’all exposed Quinn. I didn’t realize how incapable he was of throwing on the move.
I hate it when it’s my team, but it’s always impressive when a coaching staff clearly “cracks the code” on a team’s scheme. Y’all had our number the entire game. Impressive job by Georgia defense.

Texas and Tennessee on paper are by far the two best teams.
Look at the “real UT” trying to hitch themselves to our wagon, now. Pathetic. Y’all aren’t even the best team in your state.

Hey, at least you’re still the #2 team in your state! Based on all the posts I’m seeing from Aggies, that’s apparently something to be proud of.
Congrats Vandy on being the #1 team in TN.

Great win. I can’t wait to see what yall do with that goal post.
Vols—yall should take notes from your big brother.

@AulderMagee - Your bed must be draped in the finest of silks to help with that thin skin. But I hope you have nothing but the sweetest of dreams, assured in the unshakable knowledge that you are, truly, the real UT.

I agree! Even if you don’t win another championship by 2098, I hope this will serve as a comfort to you.

It feels like y’all really need the validation. Hope this helps with whatever you’re going through.

I know we’re new around here, but I know an Aggie when I see one. And UTenn are valley aggies, no doubt about it. They’ll still be bragging about that 1998 natty in 2098.

Any time. Any place. But we all know the Tenneesissies would never agree to this because they’re a flash-in-the-pan school that’ll never maintain an elite program in the modern era. They’re just valley aggies.
re: Why is the narrative that Texas has an easy schedule?
Posted by LonghornKoolaid on 9/26/24 at 8:13 am to MackDaddyBrown
Because when you’re a top 3 team, every schedule is an easy schedule. We’re why other team’s schedules are “hard.”
