Its a strategy, when you only have 5 fouls late you can take a chance on steals, even if you foul its not a free throw, and if the ref allows contact, you just get a steal. Ole Miss should have known this.

Had a chance for the lead there, going to the wire.

Easy strategy to use when they're not calling anything else on you.

Especially when most of the stats favor the team with more fouls.
Pedulla says shut up and have another beer.
Hard to sustain 5 against 8.

Clearly not watching the game. Aggy playing tackle out there and not getting called for anything until the clock went under 1 minute.

he's smug because he's right. everyone in the country knew when shitty teams that beat lots of shittier teams got in the playoffs they would lose..and they did...over and over and over.

He's smug because, unlike most of the league, he didn't embarrass the SEC in the postseason.

Katy Perry wouldn’t know 1 player on Ole Miss and 50/50 if she’d recognize Lane if he came up to her on the street.

The actual story there is that her manager was an Ole Miss grad and one of her mentors (name I can't remember) in the music industry was also an Ole Miss grad.

Her fandom begins and ends with that.
Sankey didn't make you lose to Vanderbilt or get blown out by Oklahoma.

Sankey didn't make Ole Miss lose to Kentucky and Florida.

Both our teams got left out because of bad losses. Period. You can't just wave away nasty, festering boils on the resume just by saying "SEC".
Pretty rich to complain about how things turned out when it's the exact structure that the SEC and Big 10 agreed with.

The SEC and Big 10 had all the leverage at that negotiating table. This is just "Uh, that didn't go the way we wanted it so we need to change the rules!"
Which is more "championship caliber"? A team that didn't have a true signature win or a team that took multiple bad losses?

It is wild. People are acting like this is because the top of the league beat itself up and everyone got dinged for losses to top teams. Alabama is in if they don't lose to 2 inferior teams. Ole Miss is in if they don't lose to 2 inferior teams. Hell, the SEC logo carries enough clout that both teams were getting in if they had only wet the bed against one inferior in-conference opponent instead of 2.
There aren't many successful businesses that completely disregard the customer.

The problem is that we, as fans, have deluded ourselves into thinking that we're still the customer in modern college sports. We're not. Our TV overlords who write those big annual checks are the customer now.
The advantage of playing in the SEC is that you can lose to one of the conference cupcakes like Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt, or Oklahoma and still be pretty much guaranteed a spot in the CFP as long as you don't screw up and lose to two of them.
To be a bit blunt, big time OOC games weren't the SEC's problem. It was teams that should have made the playoff losing to vastly inferior teams in conference.

Alabama: Don't get blown out by Oklahoma and you're in... possibly hosting.
Ole Miss: Don't shite the bed against Kentucky or Florida and you're in.. possibly hosting.

SMU had to go 11-2 just to even have a chance of making the playoff as an at large. Ole Miss or Alabama were GUARANTEED spots with 2 losses.

This is the first time you have ever been incited with such insults so you can't speak from experience.

Spare me the bullshite. If all you've got when someone uses words against you is violence then you need to be in a cage somewhere away from society.

You don't get to choose If you play. She insulted YOUR mother and kicked your nuts very hard. You are in the game.

I would do exactly what I've done other times I've been confronted with a woman trying to incite me - walk away or, at the very least, hold her off until someone restrained her.

I will not hit a woman unless I know that I am in real danger. Period.

Hey, some of us have had luxury suites, real food and all cushioned chairbacks in our arena for literally decades.

Well, the premium seat folks had to rough it a bit tonight at the Pavilion. Unfortunately, tonight they had to get by with prime rib with bearnaise sauce and on Saturady they'll have to just suck it up and deal with a rack of lamb with mint jelly (yes, that's the actual menu for the club levels for the first two games).

Is that the little food truck thing that's parked permanently in the parking lot of the Publix on University? I've always wondered if it was good but make a point to not be in that part of town unless I'm going to class.

Memphis not far away.

Memphis only sold 30,000 to their last home game. And less than half of those people actually showed up. If they won't drive across town to watch their team play, they certainly won't drive to Birmingham.
