I think Ole Miss could've been decent with O if they'd have given him more time but it was just a bad fit personality wise for all involved.

Orgeron has said in multiple interviews that he is a completely different coach now than he was at Ole Miss. He tried to control everything at Ole Miss and didn't let his assistants do their jobs. He also ran the players into the ground having full pad scrimmages 5-6 days a week. He had full contact practices the night before games.

Steve Spurrier wanted the LSU job. Somehow LSU dropped the ball and he kicked our arse over and over again.

This still triggers me to this day.

Pat Dye was signed and sealed to Georgia after the 1980 season, then Dooley decided to stay in Athens instead of going back to Auburn.

How come UGA didn't bring Erk back when Dooley retired?

Shoulda woulda coulda, Bama should have gone after Bobby Ross when Stallings retired

ETA he won a natty at Ga Tech, then took the Chargers to a Super Bowl

He might not have been legendary at Bama but he would have kept it stable from Stallings days

Instead y'all got Dubose Fran Price Shula for the next decade

IIRC Mississippi State had an opportunity to hire Spurrier while he was at Duke. That would irritate me

He wouldn't have been there long. It was only a matter of time before he ended up at UF.

Mississippi State had a real shot at Jimbo in 2003.

O at Ole Miss was a disaster. That idiot had a full contact scrimmage during the rain delay of an actual game.

He also refused to let Freeze call a few plays after Freeze begged to do so. With the talent O brought in and Freeze calling plays it most likely would’ve turned out a whole lot better.

Fun fact: he was going to let him in 2008. He told everyone that Ole Miss was adopting a spread offense. Imagine Hugh’s offense with Snead, McCluster, Mike Wallace, Shay Hodge, etc.

This is true, but we went with Rocky Felker, and would lose homecoming to Troy.

When I was at TCU we thought Patterson was good as gone to Tennessee after the 2008 season

I'm hard thinking about it. We pissed Brent Schaeffer's talent away big time

See what I mean, they didn't give O long enough.

Instead they let Nutt come in and win with my man's players.

Lincoln Riley.

Wanted the job and interviewed when Spurrier left. Ray said he was too young and inexperienced to be the HC of an SEC program.

And hired Fred Flinstone looking Will Muschamp instead.

And then hired too young and inexperienced never been a head coach or coordinator Shane Beamer.

I know. It's hypocritical as hell of Ray.

But I do like Shane. It's nice having a coach who truly wants to be here for a change.

Dooley was doing an "exploratory
search" about running for Senate and was on leave as AD.So we had fat cat donors and an idiotic President make the Ray Goff decision although Erk insisted he got offered as well.

The entire process was a mess...much like Ray Goff's tenure as coach.

Totally Worth it to end up with Saban.

Had Freeze been OC while O was at Ole Miss, you would have won a natty.

Butch Davis would have been interested in the job had Nutt been fired.
