You do realize Texas was in the confederacy a full 4 months before Tennessee right?

West Virginia seceded from Virginia to remain in the Union. They're not Southern, they're the worst kind of redneck - the Yankee kind.

I go by Southern Living's definition of the "South" so Texas, Oklahoma and West Virginia are IN! Plus, if your state joined the Confederacy there's no debate or discussion about whether you are part of the South.

I once spent six years in exile behind the Pine Curtain in Marshall, Texas. I can assure that part of Texas is most definitely in the South.

Texas absolutely is part of the South. It's the western most point of the South. The state was founded by Southerners.

There are 13 Old South states.

West Virginia isn't one of them.

Texas is one of them.

Oklahoma wasn't a state during that time but we can give them a pass i believe.

Did you just ignore the part of my post where I specifically stated that West Virginia seceded from Virginia so as NOT to join the Confederacy?

No. I don’t believe West Virginia choosing not to join the Confederacy is a deal breaker regarding its admission to being Southern.
