So wait, it’s scandalous because 20 year old football players went to a downtown titty bar? Yeah man cool. Enjoy 3peat

Yeah, pretty much a make or break year for the guy. #HotSeat.

It's scandalous because they're filling in all the gaps of the story with their own assumptions. Never expect much from these tards.

No, it's "scandalous" because after they left, they were in a fatal automobile accident in a vehicle rented by the university and driven by a university employee.

Just to set the bar, what exactly do you hope to see happen?
Completely wrong mindset. This isn’t an anti UGA thing, this isn’t laughing at UGA because they got tickets for not wearing a helmet on their moped stuff.
Get away from this being an angle and attempt a bit of objectivity.

Again, just spit balling here. We are talking hypotheticals
Without logic, sure you’re spitballing.
You’re taking a giant leap from a tragic accident to downfall of UGA football and it’s honestly hilarious to see you doubling down on it

It’s is pretty impressive how dismissive of the whole situation UGA fans are… a university employee was driving players around at 3am in a university vehicle after leaving a strip club.
Clearly some protocols were either not in place, or were being ignored. That falls on the coaches and administration.

It could just as easily be that four young people put themselves in a situation against the advice and guidelines of their school and employer, and a tragic accident followed. These things happen, unfortunately.
If I went on a work trip, rented a car on my company’s account, and then crashed it and died on the way home from a bar, that wouldn’t be my company’s fault.

Here's the quote:

But make no mistake about it, this is exactly the sort of thing that can bring down an entire program for a LONG time
No where did I say this WOULD bring the downfall of UGA. What I said is, it's these unforeseen incidents that have the potential to negatively affect a program for an extended period. There is no untruth in that statement. If you've followed football long enough, you've seen it before. But at no time did I make a prediction of that happening.
All I was trying to say is that UGA is going to be under a microscope for a while. And that's 100% true as well. Other than having extra eyes on your program, nobody knows what will happen next. A whole bunch of things would have to go wrong for the "worst case" scenario to come true. Nobody's predicting that. Nobody's "wish casting" that. The only intention of this thread to to discuss the possibility of things spinning out of control. UGA fans, who are arguably closer to the program than I, don't think that will happen. It likely won't. But to completely ignore it as a possibility is also folly.

Your company could be open to a civil lawsuit…. Not unlike UGA could be open to one of the players family wanted to pursue it.

It’s possible that Georgia has been funding their NIL program from cash earned through an international drug trafficking operation. Unlikely, but possible. We should start a thread speculating about it.

A civil lawsuit (which UGA will almost certainly face) is a far cry from a program takedown that OP is talking about.
I’m no expert on personal injury law, but I would think and hope that my company’s liability would be pretty limited in my example.

do you only speak in vague platitudes? Why don't you be specific and tell us what kind of "spinning out of control" could happen to the UGA program because of this. Specifically.

Here is where you're incorrect Crow. If a civil suit is filed, there will be a discovery element where the opposing lawyers will try to dig up dirt on the University (to try and paint them in the worst light possible). If I were a UGA fan, this is what would make me the most nervous.
But if it goes that far, that will never happen. I predict UGA would quickly come to an out of court settlement on the matter.

It could be anything from nothing to the death penalty or vacated wins and the loss of your most recent title. I don't know nor do I know what UGA is doing behind closed doors.
But as I said, to completely brush it under the rug and ignore it isn't a strategy for success.

We just did that when Cade Mays’ dad snapped his finger off in a foldable chair and sued UGA. Nothing came of it.
This all comes back to your assumption that UGA is doing things they shouldn’t be, and there’s no proof or even known suspicion (outside of opposing fans) that that’s the case.
