Yep. Atlanta to Philly is same miles as Panhandle to Rio Valley or Piney Woods to El Paso.

For the curious.. Texas ranks 14th in nominal GDP per capita and Florida ranks 36th.

Kind of a dumb statistic when you realize Washington D.C. is the highest GDP per capita area in those calculations and nothing gets produced there.

Pass through revenues that don't ever touch the local populace distorts this figure to the point of meaninglessness.

Makes sense. We have a population the size of Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, South Carolina, Arkansas & Louisiana combined.

Just the last ten years alone Texas has added 5.5 million people.

OMG...Africa is freaking huge! No wonder China is investing heavily there.

Africa is the most productive (crops) and resource laden continent in the world. Sadly it can not even feed itself from the age old fighting on the continent and by folks from other continents.

WAS.

Multiple countries have had their ag production absolutely die with "kill the Boer" land redistribution BS, not just South Africa.

Hence, your problem. I just blitzed back, today, from Houston, through Little Rock, to Louisville.

"Don't California My Texas" was the best shirt I saw during my last week. That's the problem. Unless Texans are shitting out kids at a Catholic rate - and you are not - then Spoiler Alert ... everybody is going to do whatever to your Texas.

Buckeyes are nice. Texas this and that edition are something.

That can’t be right, the fine upstanding conservatives on this board who know everything have always assured me that California is a communist hellhole being run into the ground by evil and clueless leftists

Thank god we live in republican controlled states where the politicians know what they’re doing!

Texas is the only SEC state ranked in the top 25 in states although Georgia comes in at 26th. The SEC has 4 of the bottom 5, with the only non-sec state being West Virginia. (in order from highest to lowest in the bottom 5 are South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas and Mississippi.)
