Ole Miss students just caused the cancellation of the announcement.

Wow. The SJW students yelling have no idea what they are protesting.

Is there any particular reason they don't like this guy? Other than he was on the search committee, which objectively looks bad.

Exactly.. Handshake deal with his buds. Who needs intelligence from the other 49 states when we have more mental capability than we know what to do with here in the 50th?

Maybe. Maybe not. We’ll never know, because he never had a fair shot.
Again, Boyce may turn out to be great (certainly starting behind the eight ball), but the “process” that gifted him to us has certainly soured many folks.

So Trent Lott is a good ole boy? Does that make him a baw?

Yep, this exact dude. I'm telling you, I give it 5 years.

Like comparing a raccoon to a possum, a blue-tick to a catahoula, a shrimp to a crawfish... no matter how you look at it they ain't the same.

The IHL needs to be done away with. Each University should be able to have their own board of regents and make their own hiring decisions. Boyce isn't qualified for this job at all.
I never understood why Mississippi State, Southern Miss, and Jackson State should have any say in who gets hired to run Ole Miss. Out of 12 board members, only 4 attended Ole Miss in some form or fashion, being law school, medical school, or undergrad. The rest have no association with the school and should not be involved in the process. Each school should hire their own board to conduct personnel hires for their respective schools.

I'm confused now.
Are we talking about Fat Phil and UT
Or, Mizzou
I thought it was about a qualified UM candidate getting a job he is very familiar with and networked for to have success ... jk, mostly...there are simply too many chiefs associated with UM to think this would not have been bungled from the onset. UM could be a great school if their admin and the IHL would get out of the way.

Dick Cheney led Bush's search for Vice Presidential running mate, and no one seemed upset when he selected himself.

It looks like Big Chief Hawkins likes the rhyming, but is not a fan of the red faced acne, poor penmanship, pencil armed, awkward arm tat, laptop single strap brief and cheap white Tee wearing lesbo hair cut on that ambiguously gendered UM student

This same EXACT bullshite happened back in 2010 or so when the medical center in Jackson was preparing to hire a new CEO and dean for medical school.
They went through the process of having a National search, identifying two finalists, before at the last minute hiring some gold old boy caretaker who wasn’t even on the list who could hold the spot open for Lou Ann Woodward.
They ultimately split the job into two positions but all the same it was a very cloak and dagger operation. Too funny

quote:None of that happened. James Keeton was the Associate Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and was promoted to Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and Dean, School of Medicine. That was an Ole Miss decision and IHL only had to confirm. Remember, Dan was Chancellor at Ole Miss at the time. I don't remember who the two that you mention were but I think Jimmy did a good job and I have confidence in LouAnn. BTW - when did they split the positions?
