You mean Chip Pickering, the former US Congressman that ran on a platform of family values and quit congress to go work for a Lobbyist while leaving his wife and 5 (yes FIVE) kids for his mistress that he has supposedly been romantic with since college?

It's not and won't be. He wasn't even on the list of candidates. A list that actually had highly qualified candidates that would have been home run hires. There were rumors floating about this potentially happening and everyone spoke out against it. I have not seen one positive response to this hiring.

Yep, people were publicly voicing their concerns that this very thing would happen last month. This was one of the most corrupt processes that I've seen take place. The IHL didn't even try to hide what they were doing.

Apparently it’s getting weird at the naming ceremony. Protestors and chanting and all that. Sounds like a tense situation.

I’m pretty apathetic about the whole situation, but the issue isn’t necessarily with Boyce. He may turn out to be a great hire.
The problem is the back door, change of process, that the IHL pulled to sneak him in.

He could be the best candidate, but then why not let the process play out in public like planned? Why secretly vote to give him the job halfway through the planned hiring process? Why not at least make him even apply for the job?

I know, but that's why people are upset. IHL publically announced a plan, and then within 24 hours changed it all and made a final decision without any additional input.
