If you're wondering about LSU, they have 4 blowout wins (5, but FCS games are ignored) and two close road losses. LSU also leads the SEC in both total offense and total defense. They have the #7 total offense and #3 total defense nationally. LSU's rating increased by a couple points while other around them fell by a couple points.

Yes, ND's rating decreased - so did several other teams around ND
Yes, BYU's rating increased - so did several other teams around BYU

Reminders:
- this is not a ranking, it is a rating.
- the game last Saturday is not the only game that matters
- the purpose of this model is to predict the SCORE and SPREAD of a matchup. So Ole Miss beating Missouri at home by 28 is a lot more potent and impressive than BYU beating ND at home by 4.
- Sorry, but Kentucky winning games by the skin of their teeth and with a lot of help is not impressive to a score prediction model.

I appreciate the optimism in a system that puts two teams with multiple losses as the top 2 teams in the conference, but I feel obligated to question an algorithm that lists LSU and Alabama as the top 2 teams in the conference, above teams that beat them.

I get that it's a power ranking, not a traditional ranking, but still. It feels almost like SOS isn't weighing into the rankings enough to be valid.

I assume this isn’t an injury adjusted model? So it doesn’t account for LSU playing a husk of an MSU offense?

It's not about one or two specific games. It's about every team's entire body of work.

LSU and Alabama have outperformed expectations in most games. This is how you become a top team in the model's eyes. Most of the top 10 has outperformed their expectations. There are marginal differences from 1 to 10.

LSU played without Trey'Dez Green, Whit Weeks, and 2 other starters. Princewill was out over half the game as well iirc.

So... what is the point of this? Are you trying to use it to pick winners for gambling? If so, it kind of looks like this model is going to produce some shite results and lose you a lot of money. Are you just trying to produce a list of the true "best" teams in the country? If so then this is, um, a questionable list.

It has Ole Miss and Texas way above us.

We beat both..Texas at Texas.

Umm..what lol? We only look better with a new QB that can throw more than 10 yards beyond the LOS.

This is very confusing

Retard alert. This moron with a straight face just told us he built a model that says a team who just got beat by a team with Mormons is the best team in America. Lmfao.

Texas -5? Damn thats very tempting if thats Vegas to take the points for Ole Miss. We havent separated from any SEC team so at best I see us winning a field goal type game.

Is there a point where you will attempt to improve upon this stupid shite?

If not, will you at any point stop subjecting us to it?

Finally, when might that be?

What are the season to date results regarding the spread predictions, particularly in the SEC?

Just so everyone else can see how dumb this dude is here was last week's version:

WEek 7

Notre dame had the highest rating in america, and now despite losing to a scrub team they are STILL the highest rated team in america.

Last week Texas had the 9th highest rating. This week they have the....8th highest. AFter a home loss they actaully gained ground!

Last week LSU was 8 and now after beating a "pretty solid with their best player and all american caliber QB but pretty arse without him playing" msu, they skyrocket all the way to 3.

Speaking of retard..

If you could read, you would notice Texas and ND's ratings DECREASED. Are you smart enough to understand what happened here? - hint: it's not rocket science.

With power ratings, you look at the number not the rank. So notre dame lost a close road game against a close team and their rating goes down 2 points. They stay on top because all the other top teams lost worse. Texas is the same thing. My problem is Notre Dame and LSU are overrated from blowing out bad teams.

And the model doesn’t account for injuries, so a 31-0 win against a team with no QB/RB gives LSU the same boost as Ole Miss blowing out a fully healthy Mizzou

A Real power rating has some of the same issues but has LSU/ND 2-3 points weaker
