There have been a lot better teams over the years. A decade or so ago, I remember the Kentucky teams that were so much more talented than us, and I would think we had no business on the floor with them. Same with Baylor when we played them in the Elite 8 the year they won the NC. I always was just so in awe of those teams’ athletes, and we had none like them. With Auburn, I don’t get that feeling at all. They are pretty good, but are one of the less impressive best teams in the nation that I’ve seen lately.

Which this is a pretty reasonable take.

Fact of the matter is Auburn's team was piecemealed with one 5* freshman and non-ranked veterans from lesser programs to perform a role. An opposing team full of veterans and better skill is going to make Auburn look mediocre. Not all teams can do that but when Auburn finds that matchup I am pretty bearish.

Pope gets an NCAAT 3 seed in the toughest SEC in history with a team he built last minute out of the portal and multiple starters out for chunks of the season and we’re never going to be “good” again?

Sure, bud.

Regular season champs of the toughest league in the history of CBB. Yes that’s historic.

Not to mention Auburn won the Maui Invotational. One of only 4 SEC teams to ever win it

UK fans are really upset the rest of the conference caught up. Want to be big fish in a small pond, but that’s not the situation you’re in anymore.

Not true in the least bit. It was discussed by every journalist covering CBB.

Sorry Baw, Florida is by far the best team right now. They will be a force in the NCAA.

UK fans are on the “actually UF is playing the best these last couple weeks” level of cope. I frankly feel bad that your team will never become as good at football as some other schools have become at basketball, but my, that’s embarrassing.

Is there a way to see Q1 wins from past seasons?

Warren Nolan you can go back 5 seasons, other than that I’ll have to dig.

I think it shows the Pearl is a really good coach. Do you guys fear he’ll leave for one of the blue bloods?

I think was Indiana that went after him a few years ago and he signed an extension with a significant pay raise to stay.

He is already a legend amongst Auburn coaches in any sport and he isn't getting any younger. It would take a lot to get him to leave, but never say never.
