We are overreacting to yesterday’s results

Yes, yesterday was really fun for a lot of people, but everyone says that this proves “any given Saturday” is real, and that parity has taken over the sport, is really getting ahead of themselves.
What really happened yesterday?
1. #14 Tennessee beat #6 Alabama at home. Hot damn! It sucks for us Alabama fans but shite like this has happened all the time in the TSIO.
2. #8 BYU beat #2 Notre Dame at home. Once again…hot damn! It was an epic game between two Top 10 teams that came down to the final drive. How often have we seen that in college football during our lifetimes? Quite a bit actually.
3. #4 Ohio State beat #5 Indiana on the road. Hot damn! A Top 5 matchup between two fairly evenly matched teams comes down to the final drive. Once again, how often have we seen this in our lifetimes?
4. Unranked Florida beat #7 Texas on the road. This is an actual upset. Well done, Florida. However, this same Florida team was ranked as high as #8 just two weeks ago and is now back in the Top 25 after a couple of head scratching losses.
5. Unranked Auburn beat #1 Georgia on the road. This was the only true WTF? game of the whole weekend and the biggest upset of the season so far. However, this isn’t unprecedented as unranked teams have toppled top ranked teams in the past.
What is unprecedented is that, for all the apparent chaos this weekend wrought in the world of college football, next year such a weekend will be much less impactful due to the fact that every team that lost will be relatively safe from CFP elimination. As a result, it becomes just another weekend in the schedule, akin to your typical NFL Sunday. If that’s what you have wanted CFB to become then congratulations, you got your wish.

Why so no one talking about the Ole Miss demolition of Mizzou?

That’s why.

I think the Texas loss is bigger than any of the results yesterday
Texas is a team with a win over Ohio State now with two losses, their elite pass rusher is injured, and talks about Arch being benched.

Copping?
I think you mean, “coping,” and no. Alabama is still very much alive even with a second loss - and that’s freaking retarded. It’ll be even worse next year.

#1? 10rc dominated that game. I get it's a tough game beforehand. Although this year is a precursor to 24 teams next year, so...

Not surprised at all with the Vols, BYU and Ohio State wins
The Texas loss was a surprise but Georgia losing was a shocker to me

Tennessee didn’t beat Alabama. They totally dominated the game. Alabama fans need to be pissed not at the loss, but by how their offense was completely shut down. It wasn’t functional at all

Great point
This defense the last two weeks has been really good after being horrible the first few games. Hats off to coaching staff for some adjustments. Impressive win yesterday that is under the radar
Which I like

We had no offense to speak of. Not sure that it was actually shut down. More non-existent.

Props to the Vols but play calling and penalties did Bama in as much as the Vols defense and crowd. It was embarrassing for Bama

Don’t know what you mean by all the time, but Bama won 15 straight until 2022. I wouldn’t say “all the time” is accurate.

Yes college football will be much better next year but it's funny because this year for you guys is over.

Tenner was on point for four quarters in that one. Very impressive.
