Regardless of where you finish.
I'm on board with this.

What was Florida State ranked when we beat the stew out of them with Franscois? We got no credit for that.
40% of Saban’s titles at Bama we’re the gifts of media perception. They certainly weren’t earned on the field.

Negative, ghostrider

It’s wherever the team ends up after it’s all said and done.

Disagree! It's all about where they finish, I don't give a shite about "pre season" rank.
This is just hedging your bet. If a team beats a top 10 team that loses 6 games, sorry you didn't get a ranked win. Bc you would also call your win against an Unranked opponent that went on to be in top 25 as a ranked win. You cant have it both ways.

So you’re saying we can’t just pick the ranking that fits our narrative?
Yeah it’s funny how perspective changes now that LSU is beating ranked teams again.

You made the playoffs without winning your division or the conference. I would say you got plenty credit

FSU last year isn't a good example at all.
Didn't they lose their QB and fall apart?
And this wasn't a ride for LSU thread. We are ranked 6th. We already have the credit.

Example: When Alabama motorboats A&Ms tits Saturday and drips them out of the top 25, that's still a ranked win.
All I have read so far is the OP, but I disagree. What if a team is ranked #1, you beat them in week 1, and they end up going 0-12? Should you get credit for beating a #1 ranked team? frick no. It counts where they end up at the end of the season. So if you want credit for beating A&M, hope they winsome games down the road and stay ranked.

Hilarious.
For years LSU fans discredited Bama for beating ranked teams that end up bad. Now LSU finally beats a couple ranked teams and suddenly they want some credit lol

Rankings do have self lives. They must reviewed, and updated whenever information permits. The further into the season we are, the more can trust the ranking, usually.
It is true, that before the game a Top-10 ranked team sure seams like a Top-10 team. But, new information comes to light. To ignore the results on the field when they defy predictions and strictly consider the pre-game ranking is to ignore reality.
CNB had an excellent counter-point as well with the pre-season under-ranked teams.

This argument has unilaterally been used against a&m since 2012 but sure

final rankings are accurate. mid season ones are not.

“At the time” and the review board takes that into consideration along with where that team finishes
