Doesn't WVU have "backyard brawls" with Pitt?

West Virginia is the only State in the Union with less people now than before World War II. Why would we want anything to do with them? Mizzou at least provides us money and let's some of the academically challenged schools like LSU, Bama, Ole Miss, State and Arkansas have something reasonable to strive for.

Morgantown is in the Pittsburgh media market. WVU should be in the ACC. Natural rivalries with Pitt and VT and they'd resume games with old Big East foes Syracuse, Miami and BC.

Been there twice for a Gamecock vs. NC State game. Once in 1999, where it was Lou Holtz's first game as Gamecock coach. That game was during a hurricane and I've never been so drenched. The second time was in 2009. I was amazed at the renovations around and inside the stadium. We won 7-3. Got lit before and after the game with some friends from undergrad who were from Cary and their NC State buddies. Had a blast.

WVU is a Yankee school, like Pitt, Syracuse, and BC. They should be in ACC.

Actually WVU should’ve been in the ACC.

I give West Virginia mad props for the Battle of Blair Mountain but things have gone downhill since. A big segment of blame can be placed on the east for owning the mineral rights and exporting the natural wealth to their enhance their residences in NY and PA.

They decided they were too different from the Southeast 150 years ago. Why should they get to join now? At least Missouri had some who wanted to be with us then.
