Eh. Still not sold on Washington's program even under Peterson. The competition just isn't there compared to Auburn's over the past 2-3 years. Gus will show Washington something about being a top tier CFB program.

The one thing that gives me hesitation about throwing a ton of money on Auburn in this game is that Gus's teams traditionally start slow and Washington may be able to catch them before they find themselves. But I think Auburn's line play will be too much for Washington

If AU wins then they will have an outside shot at a 10 win season. If Gus does Gus first game things then AU will have their 7 million dollar 8-4 season.

I hope it will be 27-23 AU.

Chris Petersen is a good coach but he has no impressive wins at Washington. Aubarn wins 27-24.

Dead on.. and it is in the back of the mind of every AU fan, that is why were cautiously optimistic going in to the first game against UW.

1 more negative fact:
Chris Peterson is great schematically and he'll have time to prepare a great game plan.

1 neutral fact:
Auburn is O-2 in the Benzdome, which could work both ways being so close to home.

1 positive fact:
Auburn has Jarrett Stidham returning, who is the first QB in Auburn history to do so after passing for over 3,000 yards in a season.

Them warrin' Tigers open up the season against some hungry Huskies. Auburn's offense is supposed to soar like eagles, but somehow, they never take off. Tigers are more ferocious than huskies; but, unfortunately, someone forgets to unlock the cage to let that tough Tiger defense onto the field.

Leonard's Loser, Auburn.
37-14

Noodle Arm and their pedestrian WRs won’t take a player out of the box. UW secondary is great but their front seven will give up the run. There is no Qualls, Shelton or Vea. Gaines is their big body and I don’t think he’s 100%.

Auburn's defense is going to strangle Washington. They could start Phan at both QB and RB and still manage to win the game by double digits.

This seems to be a common comment on Auburn and Auburn with Gus so I want to clarify. I went back 12 years or so and these are our starting games. Auburn has actually done very well with only two loses, both from Clemson and both very close.

2006 - Washington State - W- 40-14
2007 - Kansas State - W -27-13
2008 - ULM - W 34-0
2009 - Lousiana Tech - W -37-13
2010 - Arkansas St - W - 52-26
2011 - Utah State - 42-38
2012 - Clemson - L 19-26
2013 - Washington State - W 37-24
2014 - Arkansas - W 45-21
2015 - Louisville - W 31-24
2016 - Clemson - L 13-19
2017 - Georgia Southern - W 41-7

This is how I see the game going other than the score. I think our defense will keep Washington in check until we learn to play offense. We have a lot of brand new players on offense and I believe it will take a few series to figure out what to do. Our defense has a lot of returning players and the guys that will be new starters will have some game experience from last year.

I see us scoring more in the second half and the game being Auburn 27-17 type of game

31-14 I see us scoring more in the second half than I do the first.

If the cow college is playing then I hope they get the shet beat out of them. Then again that is just me.

I'm not sure we give up more than 24 points to any team this year.

Second year QB and OC and competent OL coach this year. I’m hoping they don’t have a slow start for once.

Not going to lie. I will pull for Washington. But my prediction is:

Auburn= 30
Washington= 17
