If you run onto a football field you may get hit by a football player. Such is life.

Actually, that's battery.

Assault is placing another person in fear or apprehension of a harmful or offensive touching.

Good thing Arkys finest was right there. Couldn’t execute a PIT, so didn’t know what to do.

I have fact checked this.

Why shouldn’t he be arrested? You do that on the street and your arse is in jail. Football players don’t deserve special privileges just because they play a game …

After Burton’s indefensible antics in Neyland, and the pearl clutching from the Vols over it, I am sure they will call for 21’s suspension and arrest.

Arrest? Certainly, Jail time? Nah
Needs to be introduced to the court system and dragged in front of a judge and/or jury. If he goes through the nagging headaches that provides and makes apology to the fans, that should be the end of it.

As unpleasant or unfair as it may be, have to use this to make statement to all football players that you can't do this regardless if fans flood the field, just get your arse to the locker room.

Like I said, judicial headache and time, suspended sentence or something minor with potential adjudication, and apologize. That'll be enough, THIS TIME.

Yes, as I have often said for those in this circumstance, he should be made to run the gauntlet.

Bingo

He'll be arrested and the charges will be lowered. He'll get probation and about 20 hours of community service.

It'll be forgiven and forgotten in about a month.

Vol tosses AR girl and friend to ground

He was scared.

That was the Bammer player's excuse for a sucker punching a 100 pound woman.

These two put hands on the UT player. Too bad. They won't do that again.

He actually pushes the guy in the back and sends the guy to the ground....along with the sorority gal that was right behind him.

Yeah, that's assault.

x2

And I can't see where the guy did anything. Notice he grabbed a small guy. There were plenty there that could've handed his arse to him if he wished.

Yes, a civil battery at a minimum. Could be criminal and a third degree battery if any physical injury resulted and felony battery if there was a serious physical injury which resulted.
