Dabo has the clout and track record to demand that type of commitment. He also backs up a firm commitment to Clemson with a commitment to the player. For the most part, Dabo doesn't process under-performers, and he doesn't take in many transfers. It's a style that has pro's and cons, but it's hard to argue with the success.

Venables hasn't proven a thing that will convince recruits not to consider better options.

Venables left because Stoops demoted him.

Fake news, but it figures when you lost the original post argument you chime in and resort to attacking the coach in another way. Shameful

He knows what’s out there. He doesn’t want to compete. He doesn’t want the players to do what’s best for them.

CBV has who he wants with his recruitment of players. You're exactly right the players are doing what's best for them, our head coach our cordinators, assistant coaches are doing an excellent job. OU is
strengthening the monster in Norman for the SEC move. It will be fun boy's.

Apparently he was demoted. I found from The Oklahoman.

“Brent Venables will soon face the program that demoted him and the head coach who essentially pushed him out the door to Clemson “

Ummm. What happens when they do commit. And then decide to take a visit a month later?

About when BV left OU.

In 2011 his brother passed away a day after Austin Box (OU player) passed away. This took an emotional toll on Brent. He lost his focus and Clemson reached out. Bob was bringing Mike back in an advisor role as well, but Brent was to stilll be DC. There was no demotion and had there been any bad feelings BV would mot have come back. Go read up on how those deaths took a toll.

Here’s sime clips about his leaving when with Clemson and facing OU later on:

——-

“He described his 2012 move from OU after spending 13 seasons as the Sooners’ defensive coordinator.

“When I was in Atlanta making the connector, coach (Bob) Stoops and I were still texting and I almost turned around,” Venables recalled. “Not because of anything other than it’s scary and you’re wondering what you’re taking your family into.

“These people have been just fabulous. At the time, it’s unknown. You’re leaving your comfort zone and where you were at and what you were doing. You felt like this is what you needed to do in the bottom of your heart, but it’s a leap of faith.”

Venables sounded pained about facing his former boss in the Orlando, Florida, bowl game. The friendships he built weren’t severed when he left Norman.

He made sure to say his departure had nothing to do with OU and everything to do with Clemson.
“We’re not the only people who’ve had to move somewhere else and into new territory in the coaching profession,” Venables said. “Anybody that has can understand what I’m saying.
“I was incredibly excited about the opportunity to work with Mike (Stoops) again,” he added. “Without question, it would have been a great reunion, so to speak. I was really looking forward to that.”

Still, leaving Norman was difficult.

“It was a lot harder than it was easy. You just feel alone in your journey,” he said. “It’s been awesome, though. Those are all things that help you grow and mature and see things differently. It’s a feel-good-story now in that we’ve continued to have success.”

They did at Clemson (with Venerables) and Georgia Tech.

Nothing is static in college football. A circumstance when someone commits will not be the same in a few weeks or months. That is why he recruits other school's kids.

For an old to punish kids for the fact that college football is dynamic is not a good look.
You will change your tune in time. I promise.

Is OU going to recruit with bama right away? No, but from the big 12 with a whole new coaching staff they are right behind bama and UGA for a top 5 class, what coach has pulled a top 5 class his first year? Next year Venables could possibly beat bama or UGA. Todd bates is already about to land two 5 star DL for 2024. Regardless of the fear on tRant, OU and even Texas are about to be a big problem for most SEC schools that have lived on bama being limited on scholarships.

Hayes is nationally known and gets social media edits from kids prior to committing. He posted this morning:

Tell me you didn’t read and comprehend other posts without saying it lol.

BV is actually telling kids to go visit other schools and only then make your choice once you know with conviction where you want to be. He is encouraging it not stopping it.

Seems some have a hard time comprehending. Go ahead and repeat the same drivel again, meanwhile we’ll continue to march up the recruiting boards.

Have a great Saturday
