so was the freaking umpire standing on the first base line.
Camera work was crap, but it was obvious the best look at it was the umpire closest to the ball. He called it foul, no reason to overturn his look.

We both know whatever was called wasn’t getting overturned because camera ain’t showing shite with that view

LSU fans will dickride Vandy while complaining about the umps giving Vandy the game. Mud turtles have more awareness than LSU fans. And better social skills.

Didn't have to be. Once it was overturned by the UMPs on the field... anything questionable would stand as called, like it being a HR.

Don't know if fair or foul but don't believe I have ever seen a home plate umpire overrule the closer to the play umpire in such a situation.

Dude. Give it up.
The teams are not important. It’s the call. And… if you know baseball, then you know that the 1st base ump has the very best view of everyone when determining if a ball is fair or foul along the RF foul pole. For the 1st base ump to call it foul immediately then be overturned by the home plate ump is highly questionable and very suspicious.
There’s no need to argue this point sinply because you hate lsu fans.

The fans out there had the best view of all & at least half were not celebrating. Even those that were were half assing it.

I obviously saw the same thing everyone else did. But just based on reactions and ball flight compared to ones I’ve seen in the past, I thought it was a HR.

We aren’t talking about what we saw on TV! We are discussing what the 1st base umpire who is directly on the line, at the game saw. He called it a foul. He was overturned and shouldn’t have been.

I don’t bate LSU fans. I do strongly dislike a number of the accounts here. But most of those are just one guy who makes LSU fans look like they have a combined IQ of 37.

Bruh. You post a lot of drivel.
Maybe look on the mirror once in a while.

I can believe it was a HR with a slight draw from the left handed batter.
I went to Google Earth and laid out a 430 foot line from home to close to that poll that shows in video and approximate landing site. I slowed video and really eyeballed everything. I can believe it would have crossed fair and then continued with the draw spin to where it landed. Close up shot measures out at about 4 ft. foul of the pole if straight line flight. I can accept that ball curved in excess of 4 ft. for the HR. Can't be exact because video shows the flight coming down about 20 ft. high when it cuts off, but I think close enough.
I do think they shouldn't have over turned the call however as the fans didn't do their due diligence and litter the field with bottles and trash and such. Hook'em!

The home plate ump dropped to a knee on the plate with his body facing the foul line. (This was shown on replay.) I imagine the reason for dropping to a knee is to better line up the ball and the foul pole in his visual field whereas someone farther down the line is basically looking straight up at the ball. So the home plate ump might actually have had the best view.

Why can’t baseball use a shot tracer like in golf? This way, the path of the ball would be easily trackable

Where do you think the 1st base ump was looking?

There is no reason not to have foul line umps in regionals
