re: Penalties
Posted by LafTiger on 12/28/25 at 11:01 am to TigerWatch
It’s not just what was called on LSU. It’s what wasn’t called on Houston.
Multiple PI’s should have been called on them that were ignored.
They were lined up in the neutral zone several times and we got called for it to extend a drive for them, but they were never called for it.
Houston horse collar tackled one of our wide receivers, no call.
The big tell was the “ineligible receiver down field” phantom call. That call changed the tenor of the game from LSU getting back on an offensive track to behind the sticks and putting Houston back in the drivers seat.
It’s not that LSU didn’t commit penalties, it’s that Houston basically had 0 penalties that effected the game and every time LSU was every time LSU was about to gain momentum, laundry was on the field.

Momentum is a bigger thing than most people think.
LSU had all the defensive momentum and the first Houston TD drive started with a tfl negated by a “lined up offsides call”
That started any Houston momentum.
Then as LSU battled back Houston got calls that kept drives alive. More importantly if you look at the stat sheet, the officials have basically said that Houston played an almost PERFECT game. They have not ever been penalized in a situation that negated their momentum.
Truth is it felt like LSU was balancing things out until that PHANTOM call.

This is the truth.
This RB shouldn’t be in the practice squad at LSU and we’re making him look like Jim brown.
Pathetic.

I haven’t seen many blitzes. Seems like we’re only rushing 4

Can’t get a pulse when the officials make sure you can’t convert a 1st down AND make sure every Houston drive gets extended with multiple 1st downs by shady penalty?
Officials need to have their bank accounts audited.

This crap from the officials started with a “lined up in the neutral zone” against LSU.
Yet on a 4th down attempt by LSU the nose tackle was over the ball, no call.
Telling you, this reeks.

LSU huge favorite to win by ALOT. Look to Vegas?
Ole miss fans must be SOOO excited…

That they are getting the coaches who designed this craptastic game plan.
This is my shocked face...All while those ND whiners are losing their religion on social media.
First, Thanks. I thought we might have had some other indication, including social media posts or something else that would lead us to believe that Berry is now thinking about entering the portal.
Second, what year did you graduate? I was Class of '91 from STM in Metairie. Wondering if we crossed paths.

Can someone clarify? Why does everyone think we will lose Berry with Wilson?

See here's where OM's head is in the sand. You've been lied to so many times by your own athletic director and department.
1. The first Friday meeting statement released by your AD. He put his head in the sand and attempted to ignore that Lane was gone. Let's face it, the "extension" he allegedly almost signed before the egg bowl, was a Hail Mary from OM.
2. Coaches were told if they didn't get on the plane, they didn't have job. Time has proven that to be false.
3. We don't want LSU coaches coaching our team through the playoff...Ummm...who's actually doing much of the coaching for OM in the playoffs?
See, the narratives coming out of Oxford have been nothing but revisionist history so far, so no offense if we don't start believing their BS now.

It’s fair to say we haven’t been exposed to this talented players’ ability at QB.
Some of have, and it’s why in HS he was never recruited as a qb.
He was an amazing athletic talent at the HS level, but was an athlete more than a QB.
IMO, RB may have been the best spot for him as with the DB’s we had this year he may not have seen the field at all if he stayed there.
If we’d had any type of actual offensive system Johnson might have been a “mismatch” type of player who could be moved all over the field to create issues for defenses.
Instead we had the “college offense for dummies” playbook from our coaches that should get fixed by CLK.

Title 9 makes your proposal messy. You're not wrong, but this is what dumb laws do to businesses when you take actual merit out of it.
I'm wondering what revenue was deferred? The balance sheet shows LSU Athletics is negative 35M, but it's only because of that.
Only other surprise to me was baseball not at least breaking even.

Hate to say this but my understanding was he was paid to play hs ball.
Hope he’s not just looking for another bag.

Kelly’s opening press conference was all about what Notre Dame wasn’t.
Kiffin’s conference was all about what LSU is and can be.
When Saban and Carroll both tell you “that’s the best job in the country” you take it.

OM, following the advice of SEC shorts....lol

Don't let him schedule a press conference first, don't let him address the team, lie and tell everyone all the coaches are staying....OM got this from this SEC shorts clip...notice what TN tells OM in the clip...

If tweet fails to load, click here.Wondering if some grand “5d chess master” at OM thought they were going to stick it to LSU by delaying and delaying (which is a taught negotiation tactic) until Lane “just couldn’t walk away?
Then, when Lane was still leaving, OM got childish and played the old “if we can’t have him, nobody can” and tried to go scorched earth?
