80 percent of this board can’t think outside of football lol. Of course the northern and west coast schools have huge amounts of wealth. “But muh football, Pawwwlll!”

Of course they don't.

This will in all likelihood be the third year in a row that a school outside the SEC will win the national title. There are realistically only about 6 - 7 teams right now who can win it all - Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, Oregon, Texas Tech, Notre Dame, and maybe Alabama. That's 1.5 SEC teams who have any realistic shot to win the whole thing. Oklahoma? Your offense is offensive; you're out. Ole Miss? You have no staff and your defense was mediocre anyway. A&M? Maybe, but you haven't improved all that much over the course of this year. And Alabama has holes galore and will get beat by a more complete team.

Funny how that has happened when NIL became a lever that all programs could use and not when some bullshite backwater car dealership in Cullman, AL or Metairie, LA could fund a roster of top 100 players underneath the table.

There are 3, maybe 4, programs in the SEC that can truly compete economically with the top of the top of the top: Texas, A&M, Florida, and Georgia. LSU's promise to Kiffin of $25M or whatever it was going forward won't even put them in the top 5 NIL programs in America. Other schools have 5 or 10 Todd Graves (or Todd Graves times 10 or 100) on the rolodex. Most of the SEC is fricked in an open NIL world; they are just late to realize it.

At the moment Vandy is better than Alabama and OU as well.

Bama really struggled down the stretch run.

Ou didn’t look good either. Bama win props them up.

Vandy has no chance, none. They benefitted from a weak schedule and a bad UTenn team.

You have made it big time. You now join a long list of teams that have been shafted from playing in championship games.

Seriously though, it is bullshite.

Are UGA fans so salty in here because Vandy took that QB?

The video of Pavias trash family getting arrested at Neyland was hilarious. He really is trash.

We really need someone like Kenpom or Bart Torvik to create football rankings using openly-disclosed algorithms.
If you look at Sagarin, and just took the top 12 regardless of conference champions Vandy would be in at 11 and Texas at 12.

Oklahoma would be out.

It's simple. Committee needs to follow their own rules. How do at-large teams get chosen for March Madness? Primarily by following strength of record and strength of schedule. Texas and Vandy would both get in if they did. Texas Tech/BYU would be out and Notre Dame or Miami wouldn't make the cut. What really messes things up is the silly Group of 5 automatic bid.

It sucks they aren't going to get in because it might be a once in a lifetime thing for that program, they are really good and exciting and they are so close..............but they are not getting shafted.

The least Pavia can do is get to the playoffs before he starts drawing his pension.

Who did you play non conf? Virginia Tech? They were worse than any SEC team you played.

I honestly didn't realize he was still doing rankings.

His site was the goat back in the day.

But yeah, CBB uses the NET and despite the usual last-in last-out annual controversy, it seems to work pretty well, probably because most generally understand how it works.

Agree, this was a capitulation at the time because the SEC was dominating football.

Filling a 12-team bracket with a handful of teams (AQs) that don't even deserve to be there is just stupidity.

Again, until a 'cinderella' actually wins a title or even successfully competes in one of these things, I refuse to believe it's a reasonable approach for the sport of football. Elite teams with superior talent are always going to win this in the end.

At the beginning of the season I simply wished for a winning season and a bowl bid.

They exceeded that expectation. They are not getting into the playoff and I can live with that. They should have won one more game.

My world would be complete if they could just crush Michigan in a bowl game. I don't ask for too much.
