That 2nd half performance by GT was weak

Classy post, Football Frenzy.
SEC is by far the best conference. Big10 has 3 CFP worthy teams. SEC has
seven.
Baloney. They should put a lifetime ban on the committee.

Bama was not good the last month. I thought finishing strong was a thing. The committee just wanted to protect championship games for the money. Their last concern was choosing the best 12.

Just Glad Texas didn't get in...

After all the arguments this past week against Texas, I'm just glad no other team got in with 3 losses, a loss to an unranked team and a bad loss to Georgia. Oh, Wait...
So you're comparing BYU's schedule to Bama's? When will people get through their heads that strength of schedule is the #1 criteria for the committee according to their own guidelines? It's not win-loss record!
I sent a happy birthday Facebook wish to an Aggie friend I haven't seen for 14 years. I added a sincere "Go Aggies!" for the playoffs. His response wasn't thanks, but a snide remark about Texas. That says it all.
Only if they win the championship game
LIFE involves reality and we all have different perspectives on that. That's why we have forums like this. Just so happens differing opinions are what make debate so enjoyable..

Pathetic performance. Texas will start improving next year, but for now they're not close to a tournament team.
If the favorites OSU, Georgia and Texas Tech win, the top 10 should look like this:

OSU
Georgia
Texas Tech
Indiana
Oregon
A&M
Mississippi
Oklahoma
Alabama
Texas

It's simple. Committee needs to follow their own rules. How do at-large teams get chosen for March Madness? Primarily by following strength of record and strength of schedule. Texas and Vandy would both get in if they did. Texas Tech/BYU would be out and Notre Dame or Miami wouldn't make the cut. What really messes things up is the silly Group of 5 automatic bid.
Whoever loses Texas/Tech/BYU is out. Alabama is in unless they get boat raced. Vandy gets shafted, but that's the fault of the ACC champ game winner getting an auto bid, and the auto bid for Group of 5.
SummerofGeorge for the win. Great post. Strength of Record and SOS should be the predominant guidelines, and are, for the committee. They simply need to follow their own rules. It's really that simple. It's what they do when selecting the at-large teams for March Madness.
This committee couldn't be worse. Based on strength of schedule and strength of record, the correct ranking for now should be:

1 .OSU
2. Georgia
3. Indiana
4. Oklahoma
5. Oregon
6. A&M
7.Mississippi
8. Texas Tech
9. Alabama
10..BYU
11. Texas
12.Vandy
13 Miami
14..Notre Dame
.
. It's really not that hard. Just leave out the politics and follow your own guidelines, committee. SOS is king, then head-to-head, and then injuries or other important circumstances.

Not if they get rolled.
