It is Southern California.

How many days does it actually rain there?

I do not see any of the Aggie national championship banners in the renderings? What up with that?

Holy shite that’s bad. We’ve had better facilities than that for almost 2 decades

That sucks. 300 square miles is tiny. For comparison, A&M is 5500.

A&M is building a new indoor facility, renovating current facilities, adding a new academic and wellness center for athletes, & a new indoor track center for around 200 M.

Why are you trying to make this topic about A&M, baw?

You would think they could have a backup plan and go someplace else in the event that historically immense rainfall happened.

That indoor facility is awful but to be fair to them, the weather in LA is always good so they never really had a need for one

1. There's no space to put in indoor facility. The campus is small (300 square acres), urban, and already basically full. They could have bubble over the practice field for spring football when rain is more likely, but this year is an anomaly.

This sounds exactly like the school in Austin

Yup. One of the downsides of being in a large city.

Do they not even have an indoor track facility to do the 40?

Clearly all they need to do is sprint from the 10 to the 30, whip it around, and sprint back.

Duh.

I spend a lot of time in southern California. I had a project in Orange County that started in September. Weather is amazing almost year round. Hardly ever any humidity. This rain the last few months is very odd and atypical.

I can see the cost of an indoor facility being too much compared to need.

USC’s indoor facility appears to be 40-45 yards long. If you placed the start point in one corner and cut diagonally across the indoor field towards the opposite corner that should leave you with at least 10 yards of buffer at the end. Borrow some foam blocks from the gymnastics squad and make a padded landing at the end.

Google shows this is what they have, similar to what UGA worked with before building theirs

UAB's "indoor facility" is a full sized field under a pavilion, and it's still better than that. Would have to be the type of weather you wouldn't drive in for them to cancel practice.

Damn. That's pathetic. I bet even Mizzou has better than that.

The probably get 12 days of rain a year. Much different than the swampy south, especially in July and August.

I'm amazed how a recruit can visit there, then go check out SEC schools and think "ah...I think I'll stick with USC."
