A&M Defensive line is the strength of the team - both first team and backup. Given that the OL had some success against them bodes well. Work in progress, but promising

I’m not understanding the LSU response in this thread.
I didn’t “put lipstick” on anyone.

I said that until he has consistent college numbers to analyze, time will tell; but “average” and “mediocre” are not descriptors that have been used by anyone (outside of this thread) to characterize the kid.

So I’m not sure why you made the comment to me about disguising fundamental failings/putting lipstick on a pig, but I have zero problem calling a spade a spade.
As of now, we simply don’t have the data to malign King.

True, jury is obviously out on the kid, but I think anyone saying he's the "hardest worker" in college football is a bit of hyperbole.

Your boy Texag7 using descriptors like “the hardest working player in the sec” and comparing King’s 5 career attempted passes to Max Johnson who has started 2 sec games (when no one else was comparing the two) likely triggered the LSU response.

I hear ya.
That’s a subjective comment, for sure.
It’s fine to call him a hard worker; but attaching a superlative to that depiction isn’t grounded in facts.

Even Trevor Lawrence didn't become the starter until 4 games in and Bryant wasn't a 4-year starter.

King didn't get a spring season due to COVID either.

Really? He had a career completion percentage of 61% in high school.

Didn’t Max Johnson have a career completion percentage of 52%?

Yes, I wouldn't really describe him as deadly accurate either.

I don't think King is one of the hardest workers in football. He is however, highly intelligent, with excellent athleticism and is getting rave reviews at A&M. Still, he needs experience.

Depending on injuries, I think the OL is going to be better than many expect. Henson appears to be a good teacher, and at least three of the positions already appear locked down. They held their own against the DL, and the DL is the strength of the team. DL lost basically Brown, and that is it.

We will see in time, but King already shows a willingness to stretch the field that Mond never did.

And obviously dstone12 is a douchebag.

Very good analysis of the situation. I am not an optimist every year. OL is a hard position to turn around but Henson is doing a good job of getting better talent and coaching them up. OL will be fine after a couple of warm up games to gel.

Sorry to our opponents but Aggies will be good on O this year.
