Of course the Sooners love the Horns. One, they are their burnt orange masters, and run the BDF. Sooner bows like all the other teams. But more important, they are trying to validate their piss-poor conference and schedule

No, he'll obviously play because he'll be getting paid a wage commensurate with the revenue he generates for his organization.
Whereas now, he's making an organization millions while risking his financial future. If you're guaranteed a high draft-pick you'd be an idiot to risk it.

Also, most of these kids' families don't have generational wealth. There aren't grandparents passing down land or houses or jewelry or old bonds. This money is their cousins being able to concentrate on studies instead of working two jobs. It their niece knowing she'll be able to go to any school she gets into.
A kid might be a UGA fan, but his main dream isn't likely to have been to play for UGA. It was almost certainly to change his family's life. Why would anyone begrudge him that?

How do you determine which UGA games are "pointless" and which have meaning?
Posted on 12/27/18 at 5:38 pm to Judah Mann
Depends on what the point of playing is, doesn’t it?

Who do you think should be playing in the Sugar Bowl?

Why? The 2002 and 2007 sugar bowls were also meaningless.

When will players start to skip regular season games at the end of the season to lesser opponents? These kids are getting a valuable education for free. Honor your commitment.

Dre doesn’t want to risk millions of dollars to play a meaningless bowl game. Good for him, go get a nice paycheck.

I have zero issue with players skipping bowls. Get through safe and get paid. I specifically remember that highly rated Michigan TE, Butt, tear his ACL in some random orange bowl that didn’t matter. Cost him millions. More power to these kids for protecting themselves.

The fact is OU is in the playoff and UGA is not

The fact that you made your alter during the SECCG is both hilarious and so so sad.

You do realize that is exactly what most players do in week 17, right? When they are assured of going to the playoffs they sit out the inconsequential game?
No. The team sits them. The players don’t unilaterally decide not to play.

We got Kirbs at the helm and he don't give a frick about being a student athlete, other than the athlete part.

I think the answer to this in order to save college football is that these guys should be given a large cash disability policy based on their projected draft. You play in the "meaningless" bowl game, get a significant injury, and you get the money from the policy. The NCAA needs to double down on this. They are making tons of money on the backs of the athletes, no reason they should not provide them with some form of financial security.

I think the issue would be who determines draft status? Easy chance for some someone to be influenced to change their projections

Crap dude. Either you made a poor troll job or you are plain ignorant. I'll let you decide.
You aren't very bright. You do realize there's a big difference between being benched by coaches vs deciding to sit because you're selfish, don't you?
