Urban Meyer

Came here to see how long it took for someone to blame Urban for Florida's problems nearly a decade later.

Yeah I don’t get it. I wish someone as good as Meyer would come back and give us 2 more titles lol.

Mike DuBose lost to Kentucky his first year and that all worked out fine.

It’s too soon to throw in the towel on Mullen.

Unfortunately, Florida needs a Top10 recruiter and I don’t think Mullen is that.

ou got to get that QB to quit giving the ball away, and be more consistent, but he has a lot of really good talent.

He does have a lot of talent and yes, right now he is turnover prone. But he did show his skills off last night, and I'm excited for what he is going to do going forward.

Mullen inherited a bunch of low talent but high character guys from Crxxms, designed an offense around the talent he had and built them into a team that was a BS call from beating LSU and going 6-6 and going to a bowl game in 2009. Somewhere along the way he lost his humbleness and now demands your players fit his offense.

Florida is not like Tennessee.
Mullen is a proven head coach. Pruitt is not.
This is a 3-4 year rebuilding program. McElwain, and to some extent Meyer, left the cupboard nearly bare. Once Mullen is on track, top athletes will find UF attractive again.
Tennessee on the other hand is a 10 year project at best. Cade Mays, a top offensive lineman from Knoxville, bolted for UGA and his brother might as well. Athletes are fleeing UT like rats from a sinking ship.
Florida will be ok. It just won't be this year. Or next year. Be patient.

Ten

No. Once recruits and their parents meet Mullen that is usually enough to keep the looking. AJ Brown grew up on State’s campus and Mullen refused to acknowledge that Brown would be the biggest name on the team if he went to State. With Mullen it all about not crossing the line into outshining Mullen.

He is Beta as frick but tries to come across all alpha

Really, we're in the same spot Tennessee is IMO.

UF is in a potentially MUCH better position to improve and come back to national prominence than UT.

The state of Florida is rich with H.S. football talent, TN does not have that luxury. At this point ALL of the major Florida CFB teams kind of suck. Whoever can win/lock down recruiting in FL will have a built-in advantage over the state and a lot of the rest of the nation. Give Mullen a chance to establish relationships, recruit (hire great recruiters) & develope the talent.

The downward trend actually started with Meyer's last year (2010) and with the exception of the 2012 season (we were playing over our head), it continued with Lumpy and then got worse with MacTrainwreck. No coach can fix that in one season.

Tenn is a great comparison. Once you lose the juice it’s hard to change the culture.

Were State fans always this in hate with Mullen? Is this pure spurned lover or has this been going on all along. Maybe it has but I just wasn’t paying attention?

Based on how Florida is recruiting, this will not be an easy hole to climb out of.
