Exactly. They got caught up in emotions and didn't think of how they could spin it to make themselves look better.
Instead they look scared (whether that is true or not).

definitely your opinion on everything you said. Texas only does deals behind the scenes which in your eyes looks like "keeping their mouths shut". Didn't involve politicians is actually laughable you wrote that. The longhorn network is hemorrhaging money for ESPN seemed like a no brainer.
It was never a problem of Texas demanding unwanted tag along schools. I am curious to see how the State of Oklahoma works this out with OK State.

no other SEC school strictly from a financial standpoint should say no. If Texas didn't have the rap sheet they have of being just big ole dildos as business partners it wouldn't be a big deal.

That’s just because they sought out this shady crap. SEC is wrong to have gone this route especially being directed by Texas to do it.
No loyalty always fit Texas, but it now also fits the new SEC.

They have been running their mouth since we left the Big 12 saying the SEC is overrated. They are only shutting up now and looking pretty because they NEED the SEC. Its pathetic.

Takes a big stick to wield leverage. The SEC ain't that place. Oklahoma is the team with the trophy case and they have a historical narrative that makes the moves worth the time. Texas is not Oklahoma, and they are separated by about 100 years of winning.

Texas and OU were leaving the Big 12 and going to another conference whether the SEC invited them or not. So you can't live in a world where the Big 12 and Texas perpetually exists in its current weak state.
So now, ask yourself, would you rather the State of Texas and all its recruits be firmly in SEC hands along with aTm, or would you rather Texas and OU go to the Pac 12 or Big Ten and have all of their schools come in like vultures splitting up the Texas recruiting pie even further? Because wherever Texas and OU go is the conference that will culturally own that state and its recruits for the next century. Why open it up for USC, Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, or sleeping giants like AZ State to come in and raid Texas, in addition to the raiding the SEC states are already doing once aTm joined?

Really no need to include A&M on front end of conversations since everyone knows where leadership stands.
These are the only groups that matter in the discussion:
Head SEC officials/OU & TX/ESPN/Disney
Exactly. And as much I would laugh at the suggested narrative, there is no way in hell its true. This wasn't some cool kids table shite where a half dozen SEC member athletic departments schemed this behind A&M's back. For one thing, a world doesn't exist where this wouldn't have leaked immediately if more than a few people knew about it.
I actually have more respect for the SEC office for the way this has been handled.
But, since this is the SEC Rant, HA HA HA! You got played Aggie!!! We knew it and you didn't!!

I believe it turns into a SEC West type network and the current SEC network turns into a SEC East type network. The remaining money owed to Texas just get re-allocated and split between all 16 conference teams evenly. It makes the most logical sense.

I mean I don't disagree, but schools in the Big Ten and Pac 12 that recruit nationally already come into Texas and take top talent. I personally think Texas is best off as a independent if the new landscape allows it. Now if it doesn't then yes Texas would be foolish not to look for the SEC.
Just speaking from experience Texas is a terrible business partner and just overall terrible to be around. Texas is the fat middle aged woman that still thinks she's hot shite from highschool. Hopefully they come in and fall right into the middle/bottom tier where they belong. Maybe get humbled a little bit who knows.

This was a really well kept secret. Our good pay boards with ex players and current players parents on it either didnt know or never said a word.
I think it was because of the State of Texas in general though not just Aggie. Oklahoma has no worries. There's not really anything that can be done to stop us from leaving but Texas will be fighting Baylor, TT and A&M over this.

And the split begins. I will stick with current even if it no longer includes LSU.

So generous of Texas…
Texas should have to breach contract with ESPN to join ESPN and then have breach be forgiven by ESPN.

Shut up. Nobody wants Texas or likes shitty Texas fans. You are just riding in on Oklahoma’s coat-tails (and your coach on cocktails).
Texas needs in because you can’t even control your student body over your fight song much less what’s next. The new Texas will be nothing like the old as the alumni die out. This is last shot for Texas to keep old rich alumni happy and give more money.
Unfortunately it will divide the SEC and weaken another conference because that’s what Texas does.

This has been the greatest week of the rant ever

the only thing consistent from all parties is OU makes sense to join. Like it or not SEC is leveraged by the briefcase of cash.
