Two SECr Myths Dispelled Yesterday

The first, "You CAN'T run on Bama". Jalen Hurd rushed 18 times for 92 yards and a TD. While that isn't a dominant performance, by any measure, it was still 5.1 YPC behind a patchwork Oline.
The second, "LSU CAN'T win if Harris is forced to throw the ball". In the last two games, when the rushing game was held in check, somewhat, Harris is 24 for 39 with 488 yards, 5 TDs and 0 turnovers. Once again, not dominant by any means, but good enough to beat anyone in the country.
It should be a very, very good game in two weeks.

Western bumfrick state is better than Memphis.

And another- Brandon Allen will choke in the 4th.
In the 4th quarter & 4 OTs, Brandon Allen was 10-14 for 102 yards, 2 TDs & had a 1st down running & receiving. Clutch.
Very happy for that dude, he deserves some shining moments after the years he's endured.

Tennessee: 92 yards wasn't enough.
Alabama: 92 yards was not too much.
I guess it depends on your perspective.
Ask Chubb, he had a lot more than Hurd and it wasn't enough.
FOurnette: 37 yards, 0 TD, 2 TO.
Will that be enough?

And Florida? Does all of our easy games completely negate the good ones? Jesus, some of the people on this board.

LSU fans are reminding me soooo much of the build to 21-0.
I hope the melt is just as tasty.

Props on proper use of dominant.

Running outside the tackles on Bama is possible. Up the middle is a different story.

And destroyed them. What's your point. You played a weak Aggie team, so the fricking what. There has to be a point in here somewhere

I expected Tenn to have some success running the ball on bama. The knock on bama is that they always have more trouble when they have to account for QB mobility. I think LSU has just a little bit better running game than Tenn, and certainly a mobile QB that can actually beat you with his arm as well. Bama has a good D, but this is certainly encouraging. Bama has a poor OL, and an overall poor offense as long as you aren't giving them gift turnovers...which LSU hasn't done this year...so far.

Actually you should throw in the South Carolina game for 3 games in a row...I think his stats for the last 3 games would be around 700 yards and 7 Td's and 0 interceptions......that combined with a great running game....well...we shall see.

We ended your titke dreams in 2005 and 2010. Looks like we're due for another in 2015.

Fournette is most effective off tackle. This is setting up to be a good matchup. Dupre and Dural will win one-on-one matchups more often than not, which is why Harris has been so successful. He's finding whichever is in single coverage and getting the ball to them.
The question is will Bama play a single high safety, or play with only 7 in the box until Harris shows he can beat them as well? My guess is the former. If Harris does show he can beat them, will they be will to pull the safety back and try to stop LSU's running game with just 7? That's a tougher call.
Like I said, this is going to be a really interesting game to watch.
