It's interesting and I have close friends that are AU fans. It's a discussion I see all the time, hell they were doing toasts after AU lost to UGA on Saturday because "Bama won't go to the playoffs", they weren't even pissed that their own team had 3 losses, just that Bama was out of the CFP.

This is 100% factual.

Kevin Steele was a terrible coach at Baylor. Lol if this is true.

Was he the guy who didn’t take a knee on the last play when the team was winning vs UNLV, resulting in a pick six and a loss? Or was that a different clown?

This guy's loves to act like he has inside information and knows Jack shite about what's going on in the program. 90% of the clicks he gets are people who think they are clicking on a Phillip Marshall story. He is the guy that was throwing around Bob Stoops' name and saying Gus had been fired last season. He is a complete hack.

And before you mention Ed Orgeron as a terrible coach who’s improved, I’ll say that I think Orgeron’s not a good coach and is being carried by a trillion dollar staff.

Wonder where that "We need a winner, not a loser" airport guy is? Will he be making his return?

Orgeron is proof that almost any coach can succeed when the boosters pay out a trillion dollars to hire the nation’s top assistants.

Orgeron is still not a good coach. I don’t know why people don’t realize that.

This is a 100% lie.

You don’t have friends.

And if you have friends that still do “toasts” to things.. then they don’t like football because they are likely very into men’s fashion and runways.

So are you a liar or are you gay?

Just be honest.

Kevin Steele allowed 70 points to WVU. Clemson got going after he was fired.

Was he the HC there? Seems like he might have redeemed himself as a DC.

Gus' pay this year is $6.8MM with a $26.6MM buyout, and that's just HIS contract. Auburn would also have to buyout the rest of that staff who's currently the 6th highest paid staff. Gus gets 50% of the buyout within 30 days of termination and the rest spread out over a few years.

You’re certainly entitled to your opinion.

The experts in the college football industry disagree with you, but you’re certainly entitled to have a minority opinion that differs from everyone else.

I think it’s great that in this country all opinions and voices can be heard. Even the silliest and most foolish opinions are free to be shared.

I've been thinking about this some more and I think it would be a terrible decision.

I like Steele. He's done well as DC in the SEC. But they'd be better off keeping Gus than banking on Steele.

Surely Auburn can do better. And if not, why is that?

LSU ended up with Coach O but it wasn't for lack of trying to get guys like Herman and Fisher. Also O had 2 interim stints where he acquitted himself well.

Steele hasn't been a head coach since 2002. He deserves another shot but it seems foolish for Auburn to be the school to roll the dice.

I was only half kidding about Kiffin. Great recruiter, full of potential, did well as OC at Bama. Main problem is he's an attention whore troll and work ethic is questionable.

I was referring to Clemson’s 70-33 loss to WVU in the Orange Bowl. That’s why Steele got fired as DC at Clemson.

Do the “experts in the college football industry” (if such a thing really exists) disagree with me about Orgeron?

I think that it’s just tigerdroppings.com that disagrees with me.

Steele's HC record is worse than The Chizzard of AUz.

It’s slightly worse than O’s record at OM. I don’t really care what he did 20 years ago at one of the worse programs in college football.

I would be fine with the hire. I wouldn’t love it, but I’d be good with it assuming he follow’s O’s lead and puts an emphasis on hiring quality coaches around himself and not trying to run everything himself.
