Worse record than Missouri. Not sure how much lower we can go. Thanks Ray

Baseball America just released their latest brackets (fwiw). Gainesville bracket looks stout bigD.

Thinking about driving over Thursday/Friday for the A&M game. Any tips before I purchase tickets or make reservations?

Seeing these three at the bottom of the pack in baseball just feels... wrong.

Auburn over Georgia?

That's just fricking stupid.

Yeah Baseball America is always the outlier. We aren't going to be a top 8 seed. But if we were that regional would suck.

Yeah, for some reason, BA this season is basing its seeding on their projected final finish instead of as previously, current rankings. I wish they would switch back (jmho).

Compare the schedules and just about every other metric. The only ones who disagree are uga fans and gumps. Let's see what plays out after this weekend. Either way, I see both as top five seeds.

All series are Thurs/Fri/Saturday matchups this weekend to give the pitchers of the teams seeded 9-16 an extra day of rest before plays starts in Hoover on Tuesday

Why? UGA is ahead in SEC record, but they didn’t play the same schedule. Right now, Auburn is ahead in every metric the committee will actually use to seed the tournament.

You may not like it and it very well may change this weekend, but it isn’t stupid.

Not if you think Auburn will win the home series against them this weekend. I mean they're about to play each other three times, possibly four depending on how the SECT shakes out.

No need to debate as it will be settled on the field.

lol they finally caught so much backlash that they’ve updated their methodology. I think Georgia should be at least 5 and Texas behind us but I can live with Auburn ahead of us in this instance.

yeah I have no issue with AU being ahead of us. They have earned it and played extremely well all season. No clue why Texas continues to be ahead of us.

Not sure why Auburn insists on playing the toughest schedule in every single sport.

Georgia will get a boost for winning the SEC championship, but as things stand at this moment, the metrics that the NCAA says they look at suggest Georgia shouldn’t be nearly as high as you think.

UGA;

#14 in RPI
#6 in DSR
#7 in KPI
#38 SOS
#10 in Q1 wins
#25 in Q1+Q2 wins

No data points above suggest Georgia should even sniff a Top 5 national seed, and even being a national seed at all with that resume is questionable.

Of course the committee will double down on rewarding Georgia for winning series against #57 LSU, #74 Vandy, #111 South Carolina, and #121 Missouri which boosted them to an SEC regular season title… Georgia will get the #6 - #8 national seed… but you shouldn’t hate the metrics for being what they are.

Indeed.

RPI: AU #3: UGA #14
DSR: AU #4, UGA #6
KPI: AU #2, UGA #7
SOS: AU #1, UGA #38
Quad 1 Wins: AU #4, UGA #10
Quad 1+2 Wins: AU #5, UGA #25

Of course if Georgia wins the series this weekend, a lot of this could change. But as things stand now Auburn clearly has the better resume. Not remotely close actually.

And Texas’ is clearly better too IMO.
