Which some LSU fans say cost you a conference title.
2023 Final Baseball Standings:
Arkansas 20-10
Florida 20-10
LSU 19-10
It definitely did, but winning the national championship that season makes it irrelevant.

Good for him, he is a heck of a player!

Come on SC, wake up.

Carolina had to put a 5 on the board B8 to erase a 5-1 deficit - ended up winning 6-5 in a game Winthrop out played USC except for a half inning - smh -
eta - Petry's final AB of the night he swung and missed for a 3rd strike and on the follow through looked like he re-aggrevated his left shoulder sprain that had him miss the past 9 ballgames -

Good job on the comeback but the injury sucks. Hope it's just a little tweak.

Figured I would get this off my chest in a low-traffic midweek thread.
It’s hard not to like Auburn baseball
The coach
The stadium (possibly my favorite SEC stadium with the upgrades)
Overcoming the scholarship limits that other states have easier loopholes around.
Generally decent human beings as players and not raging arse holes like Tennessee.
The homerun tonight from the walk-on Birmingham Southern grad student/1B coach was classic.
Now, frick everything else about Auburn though.

Time for Auburn to make some serious noise in Omaha. I won’t say they deserve it. They just need to.

That it was an absolute NUKE was perfect. What a story.

"2023 Final Baseball Standings:

I know sweeping on the road vs anyone team (except Mizzou) is never easy and never something you should expect. With that being said, I'm totally expecting an LSU sweep of cocky. Even thought all we need is 2 (possibly 1) to lock up a top 8 national seed, I just don't see how USCe takes one from lsu. Not saying it's impossible. I just truly believe LSU gets the sweep.

I’d be pleasantly surprised if LSU sweeps. They swept only one team on the road (OU). Two of those games by a combined 3 runs. Even Mizzou at the box had a one run game.

If Florida is a 2 seed would you rather go to FSU or UNC if you had a choice?
Their AD is the committee chair so this is likely a lot less theoretical of a choice than you are thinking.

Paul Mainieri has been swept multiple weekends this spring - here's the running tab for Paul getting swept in his return to the dugout -
18-6 - Clem U

35-9 - Arkansas (25 innings w a run rule included)
25-14 - Tennessee
40-19 - Aggies (26 innings / run rule + 10 inning game)
39-8 - Florida (25 innings w a run rule included)
46-15 - Auburn (25 innings w a run rule included)
at no point since Gamecock baseball started playing in 1892 has USC been swept in 6 weekends of ball - until Paul did it in his first year back coaching this spring - LSU has a chance to make it Lucky 7 for its former HC -

I like Ike Irish and am glad the likelihood of us playing him again is slim
