And how you say that compares to previous years

It’s better than either of the past two at this point in the process. It’s lining up exceptionally well for a strong close.

But if he doesn't perform and build his own merits as a HC soon, that hype is going to fade and places like Clemson and Dabo are going to steal it.

Literally all that’s left for him to do is win a national championship. He’s won the conference, won a playoff game, etc.

Hell yeah I see LSU winning a natty soon once again. Mark that down and take it to the bank. Definitely will win one again before Georgia does. Orgeron is just getting started here st LSU and will whip much arse. We have a better recruiting base than does uga, and we have a better tradition of winning titles than uga does. We we simply a better program than uga. We seem to kick their as much more than they do ours since 2000. LSU i's better than uga. What has Georgia done since 1980? Seriously, what makes them believe they're this big time dominant program that they seem to think they are since kirby got there, and really before that. They're always overrated...and haven't won a damn thing. Prove me wrong.

Do what? ND,UF,A&M plus AU and UT on the road.

And we play UF,Mizzou,AU,A&M and GT all in a row without an off week.

The two years prior it was definitely a pretty breezy road. (Maybe last year not so much since the East is at least improving.)

But yeah, this year is a bit more of a test. ND, Aubbie, A&M, Missouri, Florida are all potential teams to finish the year ranked and likely will.

With the way he's recruiting he will need to win the conference more than once.

Unless you guys are saying the East is enough (it wasn't for us), he will need to win the SEC in the next few years and occasionally make a trip.

If Mullen had the type of talent Kirby did, it would be SEC at a MINIMUM every year or bust.

I'm not a big recruiting follower, but the problem I see here is other teams are already way far ahead and in past years as well.

The early signing date has speed up the recruiting process. Getting faster every year it seems.

For example last year Alabama finished #1 in the composite with 317 pts. Georgia was #2 with 308. #3 was 287.

Clemson is already at 299 this year with only 19 commits. Alabama is at 293 with 22. Georgia right now is 271 with 16 commits.

So everyone is up right now. The process is moving much faster.

I searched for the article I read 6-8 months ago but the main point he made in the article was about was the hours you put into recruiting.

Without the link to quotes, no one knows for sure what he said, or the context it was said in.

I very seriously doubt that with Saban still in the conference.

If Kirby stays competitive nationally, which he has been each of the last two years, he will be ok. It would be irrational to expect him to beat Saban all the time. He’ll get him at some point if things continue on the current track.

Are we talking about Kirby Smart or Mark Richt?

I guess the difference here is really just the playoff game vs bowl games era. As Richt came just about as close as Kirby did to winning a National Championship since Georgia would have also killed Notre Dame.

Weird how UF fans don't consider the SECC or playoff games improtant. When was UF's last SECC or playoff win?

Straws doesnt consider SEC titles or Playoffs important. Only meaningless bowl games. Talk about an arse backwards thought process.

Guess that is why Saban made Meyer quit at UF.

This is a function of the scoring system and numbers of commits. UGA has had fewer commits at this point in each of the past two years (both with the early signing date) iirc. Definitely in 2018 when UGA finished #1. There is plenty of time to close out 8 spots or so.

... and then Georgia fell off the map as a national contender from 2013 through the end of the Richt era. If that happens to Kirby, frustration will build.

No shite. Math must be hard for you. UGA being at 271 with only 16 is incredible. Its not gonna be hard to get to 300.

Oh yeah, I forgot recruiting existed in a vacuum and only Georgia would be gaining recruits.

My bad.

Teams can’t sign an unlimited number of players. Georgia has way more space than the teams above them.
