And oh yeah, lets raise a glass for one of South Carolina's great heroes:

We shouldn't forget the Swamp Fox either.

It wasn't sexy (and that is what it took), but the Revolution was won in SC. Something like 200 engagements were fought in this state. Cornwallis's entire strategy had to be altered because of this state. Instead of pacifying the colony and moving on, Cornwallis ran away to Yorktown with the hope of destroying our supply line and was defeated.

This dude seems to be a mix of the Gamecock and the Swamp Fox, no?
Either way, the dragoon dude was a real guy who had a healthy rivalry with Marion, if I am not mistaken.

This has been the case with most every historical tour i've taken in the South. The entire tour is white-guilt, politically correct BS to make white southerners hate themselves for no reason

There's nothing wrong with admitting mistakes. It shouldn't result in self-hate. None of us had anything to do with the Confederacy or post-war bullshite.

I'm confused. Why are Texas people making fun of South Carolina's Confederate history?
I mean, Texas figuratively tarred and feathered Sam Houston because he refused to swear loyalty to the Confederacy. Talk about shameful.

We're not. At least, I'm not.
The number 1 reason Texas joined the Confederacy was for military protection. Otherwise, we would have been our own nation again.

even though i am not a native texan, i do not look back on texas' time in the confederacy as "no big deal" or latch on to revisionism. texas has a very checkered and shameful past with race relations, acknowledging that isnt white guilt. we SHOULD be ashamed of that point in time in our states histories

Truth.
Kings Mountain was likely the turning point of the war in the south.

I'm viewing all the Texas A&M vs South Carolina posts. There certainly are a lot of them. Why? They're not old rivals, are they?
I served with a number of men (not sexist...I was combat arms) who were A&M grads. Good people. Fun. Very delusional. Far inflated sense of self-importance when it came to the Aggies.
I've also known a great many South Carolina fans and graduates. When I lived in Houston, of all places, I worked with a good contingent of Gamecock grads. Fun to drink with. Unrealistic. Scarily optimistic. Occasionally mean-spirited in a backstabbing manner.
Yes, I guess I can understand where this cute little rivalry has blossomed from.

Assholes from Ohio in particular. This shite makes me vomit. Blatant desecration of our state flag:

The self-loathing among many Southerners is nauseating. Tour guide should have said - don't like our history? I-95 North should take you where you need to go.
