He should enter the draft. He’s easily one of the best in a weak draft class

The Ferris State head coach and Assistant AD for Sports Medicine both submitted written statements supporting Chambliss’ appeal.

And they told the truth. They didn’t exaggerate it. Hence why it got denied.

Hope he is allowed to play. Doing so will hopefully walk someOM fans back from the ledge after Kiffin broke them.

It's definitely a risk returning after the year he just had, but he doesn't project as a super high draft pick even now.

Last Mock I saw right before their last game had Chambliss as #3 QB on the board behind Mendoza and Moore. Moore has since declared intent to return to Oregon. #2 QB is pretty high

He's QB3 in both Field Yates' draft rankings and in CBS' Draft Prospect rankings behind Mendoza and Ty Simpson, but his overall prospect ranking is in the hundreds. This basically means he's a 4th-round prospect right now. 4th-round NFL draft picks get contracts in the $4.5-5M range, meaning he would make somewhere around $1.25M per year before taxes. This is where Trinidad suing to come back makes more sense - I don't know what we've offered him in terms of NIL/revenue share money to come back next year, but I'd bet my manhood that it's higher than $1.25M, probably somewhere in the $4M-$5M range. As long as Trinidad doesn't completely bottom out next season, he will still be a 4th-round prospect in the 2027 draft, but he'll be one year-older and $4M+ richer before his rookie deal kicks in. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

I have got where I look at a post or response and if it's from an LSU poster, I don't even read it. It's either complete BS or an outright lie!!

That’s not exactly how drafts work though. How often do you see teams reach on QBs they really shouldn’t? Happens every year.

You're not wrong, but it doesn't change the fact that Trinidad is likely not a first or second round pick and there aren't but 5ish teams in the NFL that need a QB right now. He won't be drafted high unless he has an unreal NFL combine because he's small and doesn't have the best arm. I could see Trinidad getting drafted in the third round, but any higher than that just doesn't seem realistic

Actually he isn't. But he would be dumb to come back for anything less than $4M

Quick search of his draft stock shows him as the 4th or 5th QB.
Possible 2nd round.

They also list him at 6’1”.
Is he that tall?

I hope he's allowed to come back because the only thing funnier than Ole Miss not having him next year is him coming back and
- hurting his draft stock
- realizing first time head coach Pete Golden is basically their Sherrone Moore and winning 2 games with another coach's staff and players does not make one an elite coach
- losing all the offensive coaches was actually a big deal and it's not easy to just repeat a season like they just had
- regretting not jumping to the NFL with this weak QB class

Way funnier

The probability of Ole Miss being anywhere near as good as they were this year is very very low.

Thats not even a dig, it just is. Hes better off declaring.
